Beautiful hike with waterfalls or rapids every ten minutes or so. Moderately easy track. Took us 5:5 hours including morning tea and lunch break. 19 kms total circuit starting and finishing from Tallanbana Picnic Area. Perfect weather on the Gold Coast today. Well worth it.

Mt Greville: Waterfall Gorge/Palm Gorge circuit (Moogerah Peaks National Park)

Great walk with some lovely views along the way. Hardest part was descending Palm Gorge due to the many fallen palm fronds which are slippery. We downloaded a map which is essential as the trail is not signposted after the first 400 metres. Took 5 hours including two snack breaks. The advice to keep left at the ‘waterfall’ rock blocking Waterfall Gorge is correct. We ended up following the more obvious trail to the right and had to backtrack.

Lovely walk. Just did the Twin Falls circuit today. Lots of water per all the falls due to the recent heavy rains, but a lovely sunny day to enjoy it.

Took the Kosciusko Express Chairlift to the start of the summit walk, which is 13km round trip. Easy path although some sections are steep. There are toilets not far from the summit. The day I went the weather was fine, although the wind was quite cold as soon I stopped moving. Great to have hiked to the top of Australia.

A great hike with some fun rock scrambling and views of Mts Tibrogargan, Beerwah, Tibberoowuccum and Tunbudbudla. Did the walk back along the Soldier Settler trail which made the whole hike 13kms.

Loved this walk and will do it again. The trail was easy to follow, the ridge walk was quite pretty, the scramble at the end was fun, and the views excellent. A steepish start to the trail, which is uneven and has some loose rubble, nothing to worry about if you have good grippy shoes. Anyone of average fitness could do this trail. Even the scramble at the end could be done by a novice if they have someone experienced with them.

Eaton Rd is pretty much 4WD only at the moment due to some large churned up pot holes. The walk from the ‘car park’ to the base was pretty easy. Pink ribbon showed where to turn onto the single file track to the saddle. The first part of the climb was quite steep and lots of loose rocks. From the cliff face the path to the left is marked with blue ribbons. A large gum tree has fallen into the gully but we were able to use it to climb over and start on the last part of the track which has larger rocks and more trees. Added a stone to the cairn at the top. Coming down we found the steep loose part of the trail a little harder with frequent slipping hazards. Still a good mornings workout though.

Took the trail that lead straight up. Easy to follow but quite steep and lots of loose scree. Lost the trail on the way down and ended up having to do a little rock scrambling. Enjoyable anyway.

Nice walk through some pretty bush; rainforest, alpine and open eucalypt. Once we found the right trail it was easy to follow, but finding it was difficult. At the head of the trails is a notice board with a map and information. The Somerset Trail (that leads to the lookout) is the little path to the right of the notice board. The trail is packed earth with leaves and sticks over it; so it can be a little slippery if wet. There are a few uphill walks but anyone of reasonable fitness should manage it. My husband and I, in our 50’s, did the circuit in 3 hours.

Having done Mount Beerwah two days ago I can confidently say that Mount Tibrogargan is the easier of the two. The climbing section is a little shorter, the climb has lots more hand and foot holds, and the angle of the slope is a little less steep. A great climb but if you are inexperienced, like me, only go with a group of experienced climbers. Also take insect repellent, there were lots of mozzies!

Very hard climb at the beginning, quite steep and long. I couldn’t have done it without the help of more experienced climbers in my group. Once past the Organ Pipes it became a lot easier. I’m in my 50’s and above average fitness, but I lack confidence in climbing heights. Did the descent crab wise on my backside. I felt more relieved than elated when I finished. Glad I did it, but not rushing to do it again.
There are now toilets just a short way along the path from the car park.

White Rock Ridge Hike (White Rock - Spring Mountain Conservation Estate)

I recommend doing the White Rock Ridge walk. Much more interesting than the White Rock Trail, it also has views of the CBD. The path is well signed, and from the top there are green arrows to a track that has a little scramble on to White Rock. The Ridge Trail is pretty easy as it’s not a steep hike, just be prepared that the trail is a little rough as some parts are rocky.
