| I've done this a dozen times or more. This poor Mt has never fully recovered from the big fires, and the loss of big trees is a truly sad sight. Compounded by the lack of rain recently, I've never seen the track looking so dry and unkempt. The top section is very overgrown with nettles, and other stinging plants, but you have no choice but to walk in them as you pass the cliff edge. The cliff edge is so narrow now, and the dry dusty dirt is falling off the cliff edge and the side is sinking away. Its quite unsafe now along that particular area and the bigger trees have never grown back to hold it up. It is in desperate need of some trimming near the last section from just before the start of the steps to the summit, and all the way to the summit. I was actually wondering if it was deliberately closed at that point since there were so many logs crossing the path and overgrowth. |
