Comments

The walk is very dry at the moment and with cool days is a good time to explore the area. Some quite steep bits but very achievable for moderate fitness levels. Nice view from Goolman lookout but not much of a view from Rocky Knoll

Great challenging walk, very steep in places and quite muddy given the recent rain - great views at the top

jipsb on 28 Mar, 2024

Raining & boggy but the path held up well, mostly (some mudcaked skating moments).

I have done parts of this walk before, and today did the whole walk. Lots of washouts from the recent rain and lots of puddles to jump and/or bush bash around. There was only one other group of people out walking and we only saw each other at the car park on returning. Very relaxing walk.

Brian on 14 Mar, 2022

The way out is consistently uphill. Just up and up and up. Be ready for that.

Quite a challenging walk to the lookout. We went anticlockwise which I believe was wise as it wound its way up where it appears to go clockwise arriving at rocky knoll first is all up. It was a beautiful day and I am very glad we left early, doing this any later would have been quite exhausting. Really good workout with a great view at the top and a relaxing trip and welcome trip back down

Great hike to get the heart pumping! We did the 7.4km track via Rocky Knoll, we started at 7am and it got hot very quickly so would probably start earlier in spring and summer. Will definitely do it again!

Nads on 7 Nov, 2020

End of winter and yet we still got sunburnt - go early to avoid the heat. Was quite steep, glad we went up the steep section (level 4) to the lookout and then the level 3 walk on the way back. Not sure I'd want to walk down the steep section with our baby in the carrier.

Leith on 14 Aug, 2020

Some big hill climbs on the track and the view was OK for this one. track signs were helpful, keep an eye out for horse riders on the tracks.

Mark on 1 Aug, 2020

Can be hot so recommend early start. Reasonable ascent but very achievable with reasonable fitness.

Ian Fredericks on 2 May, 2020

Nice views from the lookout after a pretty steady climb to the top. Started about 6.15am, lots of kangaroos about which my daughter loved.

Ash Leask on 13 Oct, 2019

Excellent view from the lookout. Last 1km is a good uphill walk.

MichP on 18 Aug, 2019

Tough but worth it. At the sign where it shows to go left or straight and left is advanced I would def choose to go straight. We came down the advanced and that was tough would not want to go up that way 😱😭. It’s not easy going straight either lots of uphill but it was enjoyable and worth it.

Suzanne on 28 Jul, 2019

Great views east to the bay and south to the other peaks in the area.

I took my mum on this walk yesterday and it was a pleasant walk. Some pretty sounds along the way. Bit harder than I was expecting, more so the inclines were more than I was expecting. View from the top was amazing. Glad we did it.

Sarah on 8 Jun, 2019

A nice but quite tough hike from Flinders Plum...especially if you did what I did and climbed Mt Blaine first

Glenn on 7 May, 2019

Didn’t find this too challenging but would definitely require reasonable fitness, the lookout flat at the top provided some great views of the area, all uphill on the way up meant the bonus of downhill on decent.

Juanita on 15 Apr, 2018

Definitely gets the heart pumping. Open eucalypt, best done in cooler months

Sally on 25 Mar, 2018

Reaosnable fitness required. A couple of hills which get the heart rate pumping
