Nice easy track to the start of Mt Mitchell.

Did this today starting from west gap creek car park which adds another 5klms to total. Nice easy to follow track but a bit overgrown towards the summit so beware of giving ticks a free ride. Also a few leeches made themselves known. I did the return hike back to gap creek car park including 2 good stops to refuel in around 6.5 hours. 16.42 klms total.

Nice hike. Glad I took my hiking poles for extra balance clambering over the rocks along the 5 or 6 klms of creek bed. Would be a awesome hike after heavy rain and the falls would be spectacular.

Nice easy walk on well signposted paths. All fire trails
Mount Goolman (Ipswich - Flinders Goolman Conservation Estate)

Started from Hardings Paddock went via Goolmans lookout. All fire trails and well signed and turned off left at tree with pink ribbons marking summit trail. Pretty well marked all the way up. Steep at the top and hard on the toes coming down. Would be easy to slip on all the loose stones. Easy enough to do but draining in the heat. Better in the colder months.
Spicer's peak (Main Range National Park)

Did this today in conjunction with Mt Matheison. Awesome day out in the fantastic scenic rim Mt Matheison is relatively easy whereas Spicers Peak is in my opinion not for the inexperienced or faint hearted. Very steep climbs, dangerous edges and some difficult scrambling well worth it for some amazing scenery on the climb up. Not so many vantage points on the summit. We had some rain near the bottom coming down and wouldn't like to be hiking up in wet conditions.

Done today first followed by spicers Peak. Mt Matheison is a nice easy hike not to challenging with some nice views of Mt Mitchell & Mt Cordeaux.
Ships Stern Circuit (Lamington National Park)

Long hike but worth it for the views over the Numinbah Valley. I've done this hike 4 times now in both directions and for me anticlockwise is preferable as it gets the border track out of the way first. Always find finishing along the border track a bit tedious.
Mt Blaine Summit Trail (Ipswich - Flinders Goolman Conservation Estate)

2nd time up. Forgot how steep it was. Great hike with nice views. The prickly pear tree marking the track down has since fallen or been cut down but you can still see it lying down. Real good leg work out up and down.

Really nice hike not to hard. We did it anti clockwise so nothing to difficult. The rocks along the tracks were quite slippery after the recent rain. Nice views of Mt Mitchell and Mt Cordeaux. And worth the 150 metres for the view from the Goveners Chair.
Flinders Peak (Ipswich - Flinders Goolman Conservation Estate)

Fourth time up. Still a good hike with a bit of everything. Beautiful day for it today.
Pages Pinnacle (South East Queensland)

Probably the sixth time up on the Pinnacle. Never dissapoints. Just doing the two ridges makes the slog up the steep fire trail worth it. Beautiful views especially when it's a cloudless day.
White Rock Ridge Hike (White Rock - Spring Mountain Conservation Estate)
10 Aug, 2025

Nice hike up to white rock and around and back to picnic area. Would have like to climb white rock but as I've already done it twice before decided against it.
Mount Edwards (Moogerah Peaks National Park)

2nd time up. Nice short hike. Graded as a grade 5 hard hike but I'm thinking it's more a grade 2 or 3.
The Sphinx and Turtle Rock (Girraween National Park)
3 Aug, 2025
Medium

Nice hike in Girraween National Park. Easy track well marked with white paint where needed. Almost got to the top of Turtle Rock but it was one step to many for me. Unreal massive rock formations everywhere.
Castle Rock (Girraween National Park)

Combined this walk with The Sphinx & Turtle Rock hike. The hike from the Junction up to Castle Rock is unreal especially the last part after the tunnel when you come out onto the slap of Rock just below the top. Great 360 degree views featuring Pyramid Rock and Mt Norman.
Queen Mary Falls Circuit (Main Range National Park)

Third time around the waterfall circuit. Nice easy walk.
Lower Portals (Mt Barney National Park)

Bit of a hard slog. We crossed Mt Barney Creek to walk up for a distant view of Mt Barney waterfall. Went off track and made our way back down to the creek and rock hopped back towards lower portals but ended up back tracking and found a decent and safe accent back up to the original path. We probably crossed the creek around 10 times 2 times without boots and socks. Bloody freezing. All in all we did a little over 11 klms.
Daves Creek Circuit (Lamington National Park)

Done again for the 6th time. Beautiful easy walk. Beautiful views especially on such a clear day.
