Assuming this is to get to the lookout on the saddle inbetween the two ridges, but I started at Casuarina day use area instead and found it easy to go straight out the maintained walking trail SE. The whole way was recently mown, the views from the lookout are worth the steep final few hundred metres even despite a light drizzle. I kept going up the ridge, the trail keeps going through an unlocked gate, but it seemed to wind around the ridge at the same altitude and was very overgrown.

Absolutely stunning, one of Australia's best hikes. Highly recommend doing the Big Bend walk over 2 days, camping there overnight and seeing EVERY single point of interest along the way. The walk from Big Bend up to the lookout on Battleship Spur is also well worth it. I did get lost and almost died in the night at that end bit, but at least that was a fun lesson too

Stunning sandstone gorges, well worth stopping for the lookout. There are heaps of trails going off in multiple directions from the campground area throughout the gorge, you can pretty easily scramble down to the base of the valleys for some nice technical hiking in a beautiful area
