A Waterfall lovers paradise.
It was fun to walk behind a couple of falls and with the recent rains, everything looked really nice. There were also a few extra little trickles of water here and there.
It was a bit muddy and slippery in places and there were a few trees down but the track was still easily passable.

The lookouts have good views out to the Caldera, Mt Warning and the ocean and then the trail winding down the creek is beautiful.
When the trail follows the creek, it is a little different to other similar hikes in the area, in that the jungle was not so thick and close in places. So although you were in full shade from tall trees it felt open and bright near to the water.
I recommend wearing long clothing on this hike as I found it to have lots of small tree ferns and other spiky things overgrowing the trail and I got quite badly scratched up in my shorts and T shirt.
There are also several large trees down over the trail making it a bit awkward in places
Box Forest (Lamington National Park)

A nice walk down past magnificent Brush box trees and along the creek with waterfalls and swimming holes.
No crayfish around today but plenty of bird life and a placid Land Mullet.
Enoggera Reservoir Circuit (Brisbane Forest park D'Aguilar National Park)

A nice walk through the bush and a great track close to town with plenty of hills for building up fitness. Lots of wildlife including Bell birds, Cockatoos, water birds, goannas and if you are lucky/ unlucky, snakes.
Toolona Creek Circuit (Lamington National Park)

A very beautiful walk after recent rain through lush wet forests. It was my first experience of large crayfish walking along the trail and I had never seen so many in one place as I did at Chalahn falls.
I would say this walk is at the lower end of the Hard spectrum, if you have done some medium walks of similar distance don't be afraid to give this one a go.
Heard but did not see a Lyre bird quite close to the trail and saw my first Land Mullet beside the board walk on the way back to O'reilly's.
Ships Stern Circuit (Lamington National Park)

A very nice walk with varied terrain and vegetation. There were lots of different funghi all round the track due to the recent rain, which of course also meant the creeks were flowing well.
Be aware of snakes, I saw a large one on the ships stern that I think may have been a Taipan.
I did this walk clockwise as recommended by the trail notes and I enjoyed doing the steep decent and accent at the beginning and finishing off with the long gentle gradients.
Mount Edwards (Moogerah Peaks National Park)

Nice walk up through the bush with good views at the top.
Mt Tibrogargan (Glass House Mountains National Park)

A lot of people are quite casual about doing this hike but if you are not sure footed and are nervous about heights you may find it quite frightening.
I recommend taking flexible soft soled shoes as although supportive boots are good for the loose uneven trail at the bottom of the mountain you may find them an unstable hindrance once on the rock face.
