We were down in NSW for a week and found time to do a single walk. We decided on this because it was so highly recommended. Great for waterfalls, and reasonably easy.

What a wonderful walk. We went up the Palm Gorge and attempted to go down Waterfall, but got a bit lost on the slopes and ended up going down SE Track. Despite this setback, it was a wonderful walk and one we will do again.

Did this one only a day after scrambling up Mt Blaine so my knees are feeling it.

We took our two children for this one (5 and 8) and apart from the constant reminders to avoid the edges (some serious drop offs around the track in parts) they had a good time. The view was great, on this lovely and clear day. We started at 8am and there were only a few other couples and small groups on the mountain but by the time we were walking down at around 10am, there were many others on the way up. We didn't see much wildlife, and I suspect this might be because of how busy the place was. Might try again very early on a weekday to see if I can spot some more things.

Mt Blaine Summit Trail (Ipswich - Flinders Goolman Conservation Estate)

After having walked up to the saddle previously with the kids, we finally had a kid free day today so we were able to ascend to the summit; and oh man was it worth it!

Very difficult rock scramble at times, but given that I did this in old joggers (not boots!) and still came out unscathed, it's definitely not the worst kind of climb. Coming down the other side to the Skyline Ridge Trail was slow going, mainly sliding down or climbing backwards! Plenty of orange tape to guide our way although not right near the beginning of the path coming down from the summit, so probably fairly easy to miss. For anyone who is trying to find it, compass direction east from the summit, look down and you'll see a barely trodden path. Head down a bit and you should see some faded orange strip tied around a branch. They are virtually continuous all of the way down from there, but be careful on the way down as footholds are few in places, and the only thing that stopped me falling a few times were the vines I was holding.

Descending the other side and through the Skyline Ridge Trail leads to the end of Sandy creek, and it's just a simple 2km walk back to the parking area. Best. Hike. So far!

Very busy walk on a Sunday. Was not expecting to see much wildlife due to the noise from other walkers but was amazed to encounter a python sunning herself on a log.

Easy walk really, with a bit of uphill walking on the way back. We diverted back via Rainforest Circuit for a few extra things to see. Was quite lovely.

We did this as a longer diversion when returning from Greenes Falls. It is a lovely walk and although it was very busy with a lot of walkers out, it's still well worth the visit. I think it would be amazing early in the morning on a quiet day.

Really nice walk. A little bit of water over the trail in parts but not really enough to cause problems. Would be more difficult after heavy rain. Saw a legless lizard of a type I'd never seen before. When we got to the end we saw a path leading away to the left, down to a rocky creek bed and then ascending up again. We didn't follow this but as we discovered later, this leads up back around to the Mt Blaine track, which we did from the picnic area on the same day. We are going to revisit this one and do the entire circuit up Mt Blaine, across to the Skywalk (I think that's what it's called) and then down to the end of Sandy Creek and back to the picnic area.

Walked this one second on the same day as doing Sandy Creek, not realising that they joined together if you keep going past the saddle. As others have said, it's steep going up, and rocky and slippery. We took our two kids with us and they had a blast, although the younger one needed a bit of help in some of the really steep places. Swarms of beautiful blue and black butterflies all around us in some parts of the walk. We were keen to try the summit but definitely doesn't seem suitable for children so we will have to do that another day without them.
