Late afternoon walk. We think we saw a shearwater diving for fish just off the beach today. We’ve never seen one here before.
Boondall Wetlands Bikeway (Brisbane City council local walks)

We walked from the Boondall Wetlands Environmental Centre today. Everything’s looking really green. However there are a lot of dead trees along the first part of the path that we hadn’t noticed in the past. There is a lot of new undergrowth . It still looks really beautiful.
Mount Beerwah Base (Glass House Mountains)

Quite a hilly walk along a range of different roads from bitumen to 4x4. Some were very rough with closed gates. The only place we had some trouble following the directions was the right turn after the power staunchion. We passed one but it wasn’t far enough along. The second was at the top of the next hill. We didn’t see a track after it but there was one before it. Further instructions seemed to be fine. However we only think we walked 7.5km and it took 2 hours 20 minutes. So maybe there was another track further along.

Brisbane River Walk (Queensland)
24 May, 2019

This is one of our regular walks. Our Route actually starts at Newstead Ave near Newstead House. We follow the river as far as the walking track goes, then head to the road and walk parallel with the river along Skyring Tce for one block before turning left to return to the river. The path follows the river all the way to New Farm Park. To this point we have walked 3km so you could start here. After crossing the park take Oxlade Dve which is the road running parallel with the river. Turn left at the Myrthyr Bowls Club and follow the path as far as it goes once again. At the end (Sydney St Ferry terminal) take the road and then turn left onto Griffith St. at the end turn left and this takes you onto the river walk - a boardwalk/bike way into The Howard Smith Wharfs. Walk through here and the path takes you further along the river through Eagle St Pier and the Brisbane Botanical Gardens. You will then come to the Goodwill Bridge - a pedestrian bridge across the river. Cross the bridge and over the other side are the Southbank Parklands. We usually stop here and have something to eat before walking back via the same route. One way is about 10km. However the roughy shown seems to go back on the other side of the river past the bottom of the Kangaroo Point Cliffs and cross back over the Story Bridge. However you need to take the steps up to the road before you get all the way to the point under the bridge. On the other side there are lifts or stairs that take you back down to the Howard Smith Wharfs. This is a fantastic walk that we enjoy finishing in the evening. I hope these directions are helpful.

This path seems to be getting better with the paves section going further. There’s a really nice new lookout now at the end of the paved section. It’s been raining so once we got past there parts were a little muddy with some puddles but really not too bad.

We did this walk on our way to Bare Rock. We walked one side of it in the way there and the other on the way back. It would be a great walk to do if you needed to stretch your legs during a long trip as it’s right there on the highway. Quite a pretty little walk.

This was a really nice walk. Very picturesque particularly near the lookout. We did this walk on our way to bald rock.

Absolutely fabulous. It’s a great lookout and the walk is just so pretty. Well worth doing if you do the Mt Cordeaux walk. The only part of the walk that is a bit rough is just before Bare Rock.
