Takarunga / Mount Victoria Track is located in the Mount Victoria Reserve in Devonport. It's the tallest volcanic remnant on Auckland's Northshore. This short walk takes you to the summit with 360-degree views and a historic signal house, Fort Victoria and vents disguised as colourful painted mushrooms.

A reasonably tough walk with no track or ribbons for guidance. Once you reach the summit, there is a book in a metal box for you to log your visit

This hike is nothing special. It is one of the more boring parts of the Nakasendo with the Iroha tea house being the only thing that is slightly interesting.

A stunning example of karst topography located in Kitakyushu that is entirely unique. This is a super cool hike and one is personally one of the best I have done in Japan.

A pretty decent look at some karst topography, not as cool as Mt. Nuki in Kitakyushu but does the job. Akiyoshidai is much more expansive and this hike can be combined with many others to make for a full day.

Akiyoshi Cave is the largest limestone cave in all of Japan and it is really cool. I've been to a lot of limestone caves in Japan and this is by far the most impressive. Even if you don't do any proper mountain hiking in the park, I really recommend this one.

Mt. Kinpoku - the tallest mountain on Sado Island. Hike a truly unique mountain and have the entirety of Sado beneath your feet. Some cool wildlife and a flirtation with the JSDF.
