| My tracker showed me 12.5 kms return, but it took 5 hrs. the last bit from Westray's grave to the falls is probably the most difficult. The track is well marked with pink ribbons, so if you can't see a ribbon, this means you've lost the direction. Though on the way back sometimes I just preferred to rock hop over the creek rather than climbing through muddy landslips. The falls are gorgeous! Must visit! probably one of the most bueaitfulls falls i've seen in SE QLD. | ||||

| I did the short walk yesterday, and uploaded my GPX there. But I decided not to return the same path. I reached the gorges, maybe there is a way further upstream, but there were many people and slo i couldn't identify a way how to go further, so i turned back and then decided go downstream. it's not a very difficult walk, a lot of rock hopping, but my shoes were dry (dry season now!). Once you reach the bridge you can return back the same way or do some climbing up under the bridge through the vines and then get back just going along the road. Don't attempt to do the bush bashing if you wear just shorts and a t-shirt :) The vines won't forgive :) otherwise the climb is doable. | ||||

| the trail now has been converted to a bike and walking track, and now there are crowds going back and forth, many bikes, noise, light etc. so, obviously no more bats or glow worms are roaming there. for me the trail has completely lost its attraction. | ||||

| Walked this track today. It's all easy up until you reach the turning point off the Great Walks to the creek. Then the challenge starts. There is no trail or anything, no markings, you just thread your own path. A decent stick will be extremely helpful. Your speed will be around 1km/h, maybe a bit faster sometimes, but not so much. Sometimes you will need to do bush bashing and if you dreamed of rock hopping for another hour or hour and a half, this will be when your dreams come true. :) The fall is worth visiting though. I have also uploaded the GPX track. very good advice is to mark your entry point to the creek from the GW trail. When you're coming back, this turn off is almost invisible from the creek. | A very good and not exhausting walk. The caves are definitely worth visiting, but get properly clothed, no shorts and thongs. In the beginning the major part of the walk is going through the tall grass, you will see the trail then is turning towards nsw side. follow this, you will pass the barrel with the "POISON" signage. And after that the bush starts. at certain point the trail will be coming close to the NSW fence and you may see a pink ribbon on the nsw side. hop the fence, and keep going on the nsw side trail and you will get to the caves eventually. | ||||

| Done this walk, uploaded GPX. i returned the same way because it was getting dark and I didn't want to explore Palm Gorge in the night :) Overall, be fit, a lot of scrambling, not dangerous but just different levels will require you climb a little bit. Gorge is awesome, you can shout and hear echo :). The huge cairn is still on the top (see the pic). so don't know why someone said here there is no cairn. There is a sign "on the left" uploaded. go on the left despite that for some time the path will go downhill. Enjoy and relax on this short downhill stretch, because after you will need to use your muscles :) | ||||

| A good walk, you can also start it from roomage camping area if you wan to reduce the track to 7km. But the summit is overgrown and no views are there. See the panoramic pic. The climb is not exhausting. | ||||

| Head Rd is closed. They say it's closed because of the road damage. I dropped my car next to the grid with the road block and walked around 3kms uphill. there is a construction fence installed on the road crossing the creek. the road going thru the creek doesn't have any significant damage, so to be honest no idea why they closed the road. I walked further up another 2km, didnt see any other construction works. | ||||
