The Pyramid (Girraween National Park)

Very windy climb today, but an absolute must-do granite monolith.

Charlie's updated version works as best description. From the Summit you can go West along the ridge, go past where you ascended and bushbash for a bit (took us around 20 minutes), and eventually you will come to another lookout area and one where you are able to get a glimpse of the Steamers to the South.
Mount Tibrogargan Summit (Glass House Mountains National Park)
21 Jul, 2019
Very Hard
2.7km return
2 hrs
Finally bagged this bad boy after nearly two years of climbing mountains around greater Brisbane. It plays a tough mental game, particularly just after chicken rock, but it's worth the effort, and not even the most taxing I've done.
Mt Walsh (Mount Walsh National Park)
12 Jul, 2019
Hard
4km return
3 hrs
One of the best mountains we've climbed. The last scramble looks harder than it is, though can still be a little daunting on the way down. We started climbing in the afternoon so had to make our way down before we lost the light but would have been nice to see if we could get to the other peaks from the summit. Great views in all directions and lots of interesting features along the way.
Spring Mountain (White Rock - Spring Mountain Conservation Estate)
6 Jul, 2019
Hard
11km return
4 hrs
Entered from Angelica Avenue (Grech Park) and skirted around the water tower to find the trail. Recommend following the ring road. Easy ro go down the wrong path but most seem to meet up again anyway.
Mt Tunbubudla East (Glass House Mountains National Park)
30 Jun, 2019
Hard
4.9km return
3.5 hrs
Did East and West peaks in one day. Recommend doing the East peak first as it does take slightly longer and you can save the better view from the West peak for last.
Mt Tunbubudla West (Glass House Mountains National Park)
30 Jun, 2019
Hard
4.7km return
3.5 hrs
Did both East and West peaks in the one day. Recommend going up the East peak first as this one is a bit easier and shorter, but has the better view of the other glasshouse mountains at the summit. Steep but not difficult.
Mount Coolum (Sunshine Coast)
26 May, 2019
Medium
2.6km return
90 mins
Nice easy walk, though a bit too much foot traffic for my liking. Good to show newcomers to hiking.
Mt Ninderry (Sunshine Coast)
26 May, 2019
Medium
3.3km return
90 mins
Some of the best views are off the set track, though there is a clear path circling around the top of the mountain.
Mt. Mathieson Circuit (Main Range National Park)
5 May, 2019
Medium
10.5km
3 hrs
Followed the circuit from Pioneers graves in an anticlockwise direction towards Governor's Chair. Fairly easy walk with some views of Cunningham's gap area, Mt Mitchell and Mt Cordeaux on the way. Definitely recommend a 4 wheel drive to get up to the parking area as the dirt road was not too kind on my little Mazda.

Enoggera Reservoir Circuit (Brisbane Forest park D'Aguilar National Park)

To complete the circuit follow the mountain bike trail that branches from the Araucaria trail. At the end when. You reach the dam you need to skirt around a fence and you should end up at the bus depot. Follow the road up the hill and you should reach the wildlife centre and carpark.
Mt Coochin (East and West Peaks) (Glass House Mountains National Park)
7 Apr, 2019
Medium
2.8km return
2 hrs
Did this walk as the first of three in a day. Excellent views of the glasshouse mountains from the West peak. From the East summit we headed down the South-East ridge and had to do a bit of bush bashing. It does come out on the circuit trail so just follow the path left to return to the carpark. A decent hike to take newcomers on to get a taste of scrambling and climbing.
Mt Ngungun (Glass House Mountains National Park)
7 Apr, 2019
Medium
2.8km return
90 mins
Did this walk again as the second of three hikes as it will be closed until end of August. Was disappointed to see people throwing rubbish off the summit. The popularity of this easy and beautiful mountain has unfortunately led to its temporary closure as people have not been respecting the environment or keeping on the walking tracks.
Mt Tibberoowuccum (Glass House Mountains National Park)
7 Apr, 2019
Medium
1.7km return
1 hr
Did this as the third hike of the day after Mt Coochin and Mt Ngungun. If you're just going to the summit and back you can do this in half the time. Has a great view of Tibrogargan and most of the other Glass house mountains.
