Two down, two to go in this quiet Conservation Park, over a couple of visits. Only ever met three people; one walking; one on a bike and another on a skate board. Actually did this walk twice, as I somehow managed to take a short cut the first time.
Geebung Circuit (Eumundi Conservation Park)

Ticking off the last walk and I have to say I have enjoyed taking my time rambling around this Conservation Park. This last walk is the shortest and a fun one for the kids: get them to find the question mark.
Ironbark Trail (Eumundi Conservation Park)

A valiant attempt to complete this walk, except that Council were working to improve the section below the Allandale Road Gate, where it often becomes boggy and impassable.
Figbird Trail (Eumundi Conservation Park)

My first venture into this Conservation Park and initially a little confused by the map signage. Turns out that the rule is; 'if there is no sign, carry straight on, on the main track'! Very strange bird calls from out the back; maybe the elusive Figbird?

Yul-yan-man Track (Glass House Mountains National Park)

The word Yul-yan-man in the Kabi Kabi language means 'to walk slowly' and that is exactly what you have to do on this walk. The terrain is rough, the track narrow and the views you just have to stop and admire.
A new local walk for me, but its return distance and 31° January heat took its toll.
Mount Beerwah Summit (Glass House Mountains National Park)

I did it at last! '√' Several years of looking at this monster and even going to its base a couple of times, have finally been overcome, with a fantastic climb on a beautiful day. This is not for the fainthearted, unfit or ill prepared. It took us 1hr 45m up, but the fun weeeeeee 'crab crawl' down took just 45m.

I thought that I would spend the day in Mapleton National Park with the objective of finding the easiest route into Gheerulla Falls and what I found was a whole series of walk I had never hear of. The first was this very basic short walk, which was pretty uninspiring.
Piccabeen Circuit (Mapleton National Park)

Cooler weather than usual for January, has allowed me to get out and around early this year. Having never visited this part of Mapleton National Park, I was surprised by how many walks there were. Managed to cover three in the day, and given it is holiday time, I did not meet one single other person: no walkers, horses, mountain bikes or motor bikes!

The day's objective was to find the shortest route into the falls, which took me till 4pm! Part was that I could not find the entrance and secondly, there were a couple of other walks I did that I was not aware of. Mission accomplished.
Baroon Lookout (Kondalilla National Park)

Second walk of the year and we hit a new one for Aussie Bushwalking! A great walk for all the family, although the little ones decided not to walk down the 'stairs' to the river. Don't blame them, as it was over 80 steps each way.

Camping at the revitalised Habitat Noosa, this was an obvious starting point for a few walks in the area. With the lush grassed forest area, this is a kangaroo heaven; I have never seen such huge Eastern Greys in my life.
