Unsurprisingly quite dry at this time of the year, but a nice gentle stroll on a Sunday nonetheless. Probably a good time to explore the bottom of the falls + Cedar Creek while it's easier to scramble down the waterfall face!

Track after the creek crossing is still closed, but you can still get to the waterfall and do the little open forest circuit track.

Aboriginal Artwork Track/ Hoop Pine Trail (Mt. Coot-tha)

This has been recently renamed to Hoop Pine Track as the Art Trail is being de-comissioned.

Saw some small snake, handprints and a human figure artwork on large boulders from the platform. I'd highly suggest some signs as you might not see it if you weren't really looking. A little disappointing that BCC isn't taking the initiative to maintain our cultural history of our area-- would you neglect statues or beautiful buildings and let them fall into disrepair?

Taken from MildlyExtreme.com (after a quick Google search):
"The Aboriginal Art Trail was created in 1993, as part of the International Year of the World’s Indigenous People. It was created in partnership with indigenous artists and was intended as a temporary installation. More than 25 years later and the installations are still there, but very weathered and in very poor condition. We have consulted with the original artists and they have advised to decommission the art trail. We don’t want visitors who read about the Art Trail on various websites to be disappointed if they make a special trip to Mt Coot-tha and find that the installations are not in good condition. Council will be continuing to explore opportunities for art and culture at Mt Coot-tha, particularly in a way that reflects the importance of indigenous history and culture.” Brisbane City Council 17/4/19

Decided to extend our walk from Burleigh Heads NP today by crossing the bridge and starting the circuit from the Talle holiday park. Really disappointing and nothing like gorgeous Burleigh.

First eastern bit was nice, the park was next to the creek so views were good but it turned very residential. This section was not great-- ugly houses and an badly maintained conservation park where you can barely see the creek. Crossed the bridge next to the Pacific Motorway to a regular shopping strip. The David Fleay Conservation Park was off the motorway. Tried to go through the Mangrove Track to cut through the other side but it was still closed due to landslides.

Okay to get some cardio in but wow what a disappointment. Pass and do some loops around Burleigh NP instead tbh

Been through here more times than I can count. Never disappoints. At its best, a clear day with the beautiful Gatorade blue of the ocean and Talle creek. Today was a little overcast, but I enjoyed the moody dampness of the boulders (the petrichor was so good !!) and rainforest section.

Real small and easy. Can be steep in some parts, as others have pointed out, but it wasn't difficult at all if you walk regularly. If you've walked through the super hilly suburbs of Brisbane (Paddington or Toowong maybe) this shouldn't be too dissimilar. Rly sick views at the top! Loved how they have lil informational boards that label the rest of the mountains and other landmarks.

Lots of locals out walking their dogs and going for their morning run this morning. Easy to find as I just followed a fellow gentleman out on a jog haha. If entering from Rinora Street, the entrance will be to your left, down a dirt track between Corinda Horse & Pony Club and 50 Rinora Street.
Not wheelchair accessible as the icon suggests.

Thankfully, the mud has all dried up from the recent rains. Plenty of birds singing but did not see much around, compared to the Commons across the creek. Nice that both sides of the creek have been gazetted off as reserves :)

A short but sweet walk. Always nice to have little nature corridors in the middle of the city. Very easy but not wheelchair accessible as the icon might suggest-- a few steps and all dirt track.

Combined this with a walk through UQ, and then the Meiers Road Park and Sir John Chandler Park for extra length

A great alternative walk back to the trailhead entrance from our Box Forest adventure. The swingy, suspended walkways can be a bit scary for those with a fear of heights. Didn't go up the ladder and the platform as there was quite a bit of a line. I imagine it would be fantastic for sunset views!

An absolutely misty, green, lush, and gorgeous gem in Lamington NP. A slightly wet day today, which really added to the ambience. Waterfalls were flowing well, but tracks were super muddy! No reports of leeches in our party :)

We thought 4 - 5.5 hours (according to Parks QLD) was a bit much for 10.9 km but you really don't want to rush this one! Especially with climbing over rocks to get to some of the falls, taking photos, etc. If you start after noon and want to take your time, forget it.
