Blue Lake (Kaboora Track) (North Stradbroke Island - Minjeeribah)

An easy, mostly flat walk carrying a 10 month old baby. The woodlands, heath and eucalypt along the path were really spectacular. The lake itself was also nice, disappointing to see so many people swimming in it.

Quite a nice hike, pretty easy to find and park up. Was quite steep in some parts especially carrying the baby, but decently shaded. Great views and picnic area at the top for some morning tea. Didn't see any koalas lol

End of winter and yet we still got sunburnt - go early to avoid the heat. Was quite steep, glad we went up the steep section (level 4) to the lookout and then the level 3 walk on the way back. Not sure I'd want to walk down the steep section with our baby in the carrier.
Coochiemudlo Island Walk (Moreton Island National Park)

Such a nice walk: forest, wetland, beach and road. Great signage with info about the local area as you go, plenty of toilets and drinking fountains too. A Cafe just after the start of the walk and one at the end. Ferry was $10 per adult return. We took our baby in a carrier and stopped for morning tea at the top of the island, and lunch at a Cafe at the end.

Stunning hike. Great to do it during the week when there were less people around. Had morning tea at the rockpool which was really nice. Track including the rockpool ended up being 8.1kms. Easy walking and carried a 7 month old on my back.
Twin Falls Circuit (Springbrook National Park)

Super busy hiking on the weekend and difficult to get a car park. Circuit should really be one way during Covid 19 to avoid closely passing so many people. Otherwise was a really nice walk, waterfalls were rushing.
Thylogale Track (D'Aguilar National Park)

An easy stroll, carried our 7 month old on my back. Agree with previous comments that it would be nice to do it in reverse (and take a picnic).
Mt Elimbah (The Saddleback) (Glass House Mountains National Park)

Nice hike wearing our 6 month old on my back. The pink ribbon the other reviewers speak of appears to be gone and replaced by a handwritten note directing you to go right up the mountain. I don't suspect the note will last too long, so just remember to take the right at the first fork.

Thorsborne Trail, Hinchinbrook Island (Far North Queensland)

An incredibly beautiful hike. The track is well defined and not particularly difficult (medium to hard) but it is the creatures that make it scary (crocodiles, snakes!). We took 3 nights and 4 days, although an extra night in Zoe Bay would have been really nice because it's stunning. Drinking water was difficult to find in September, particularly on the first day of the trail, up to a 25 minute walk to find it, so recommended taking a large bladder or water bag so you don't have to make so many trips.
Mt Warning Summit Trail (Wollumbin National Park)

Birthday Hike!! Beautiful hike through the forest, with a short scramble at the end which wasn't difficult. Took us about 4.5 hours with a break at the top. Loads of people around. Had a great lunch and cake at a nearby Cafe afterwards.
Charlie Moreland to Mt Allan (Conondale National Park)
15 Jul, 2018
Hard
8.8km return

We set out to do this hike from Booloumba Creek but unfortunately the road was closed because of an unstable bridge (and apparently will be closed until at least October 2018). So we drove through the forest and started the hike from Charlie Moreland. Was quite steep for most of the walk and not particularly enjoyable, but the fire tower was great. Views were stunning and it was quite an interesting place. Took about an hour, 20 minutes to get up and an hour down. Hard rating due to steepness of hike.
Buhot Creek Circuit (Daisy Hill Conservation Park)

Combined this walk with the Spotted Gum Circuit to make a 13.6km walk. Was a nice day out, loads of mountain bikes around but they were all very considerate. An easy stroll. Didn't see any koalas though.

Took my 60 year old parents on this hike, they haven't hiked in a long time but enjoyed it (and found it quite hard). The scramble wasn't too bad and made the uphill part not as strenuous. A great hike.

A great hike. Lots of new signage on the trail. More easy/medium. Really good cafe across from the carpark where the hike starts/ends.
Sunshine Coast Hinterland Great Walk (Kondalilla National Park)

Started at the Mapleton Day Use area and did the circuit staying at Thilba Tbalba campsite for the night. Didn't want the hassle of a car shuffle but wanted to hike an overnighter. Track was well-defined, lots of water spots and the campsite was great. Loads of leaches, and we saw a snake. A nice walk.

HOT! Really hot. Take plenty of water. We ran out of water but thankfully the stream near the hikers camp was running so we just got a couple of extra litres and treated it. A decent training hike but not sure I'd do it again.
