Getting there

This track begins at the base of Mt Gravatt Mountain at Gertrude Petty Place and leads to Mt Gravatt Outlook.  The website is vague as to where Gertrude Petty Place it is best set your GPS to Mount Gravatt Outlook Rd (not Shire Rd as it will take you to the wrong area).  The GPS co-ordinates that have been uploaded will give you a better idea.

Nice easy walk to the top where there's a great view and a restaurant waiting

Good combination together with the Federation Track.

Nice circuit, have seen koalas and tawny frogmouths on this track.

Got lost doing this walk, signage could be better. Went to Federation lookout then crossed the road and took a shortcut up the hill to the summit!

Return trip

Start off at Gertrude Petty and cross the Mt. Gravatt Outlook Drive to the other side. Once you go through the gates it's only bitumen for a little bit. The track will be on your left near the water tanks :)

Sections of Federation Track are closed so no loop unfortunately.

Lots of short tracks running off each other. Can get confusing.
An easy walk. A good one to take the kids and dog.

Combine with federation track to create a loop

Track good, easy walk

A lovely easy walk. For night owls the tarred road is closed to cars after 11pm. Used the road coming down 😈

Walked from the lookout down and back again. Path is well marked and pretty well maintained. All round a pleasant walk.

I do this track often as my local.
I take the dog for a walk around to and also wore my weight vest the other day while training on it.

It can be a 3k Loop when you add the federation track to the loop.
One steep fire trail gets the legs burning and one section with some loose rocks that can catch you out on the descend.

Easy peasy, family friendly. The top lets you view our lovely city.

Gertrude Petty Place is the first car park on the left when heading up the mountain from Shire Rd - be advised there is limited parking, however if it is full turn back round the way you have come for road-side parking on the first corner down.

Walking out of the carpark, after 20m you will see a sign to the summit, pointing you to a bitumen access road to your right where you go through a gate. Trail is only 1k in length, well defined and not particularly steep, and every fork is signed. Can be combined with the Federation Trail to make for a more challenging walk.

Nice walk. We were expecting the coffee shop to be open up the top, but it's closed for a couple of months. It will be great when it opens. Fantastic to climb a hill like that and grab a cold drink at the top.

Nice short walk, not too steep. Amazing view from the top.

I used to do this walk in my suit on my lunch break. Nice to escape the big smoke if only for a short break.

Used to live on Mountain St so would do this trek regularly. Still a good one to go do with the kids.
