Amphitheatre—8.6km return (3–4 hours) Class 3
Hidden inside the walls of the gorge is a 60m deep chamber, gouged from the rock by running water. Resounding acoustics add to the awe-inspiring atmosphere within the Amphitheatre.

Amazing! We had the place to ourselves so we were able to sit and enjoy the sounds of nature for 10 minutes. This is a fantastic side trip, nothing difficult but the steps at the end are steep so you need to be cautious.

Loved the rock formations and the colour of the rock. The amphitheater was a surprise once you stepped into it and it is such a peaceful place. Try to experience it by yourself or other quiet people!

Wow! Barely believe that a side track of just 650 m could open in to this.

Definitely the must see in the Carnarvon Gorge area along with the Moss Garden. Take the time to just sit & listen to the sounds if you have it to yourself. Need to be reasonable able bodied to climb the ladders leading to the entrance. Fantastic spot

A must see when on the main trail !

Definitely stop here. It's nice and cool on a hot day. Sound is beautiful if you know how to sing (sounds terrible when children try singing though!). Steep ladder to enter, may not suit those scared of heights.
