We did this walk from Loveday Cove and back. It was 10km and 2hr 11min from the main car park. The dam is very low at the moment - we remember visiting when the water was lapping over the spillway!

The area is still fairly dry but there was water running in the creek. Lots of stairs! We walked in via the creek path with the side tracks to water holes, and came back from Koonin lookout directly to the carpark with a distance of 4.8km.

The website said the chairlift would be closed for winter, but it was running when we got there so we took it to the top, did the walk around the circuit and walked back down. It is pretty steep!
Marions Lookout (Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park)
13 Jun, 2021
Hard
7.5km return
3 hrs
We did this hike from Dove Lake via Lake Lilla, Wombat Pool and Crater Lake. We decided to continue on to the Kitchen Hut as the weather was fine, but the cloud came over quickly and we had lunch there and turned back. There were some patches of ice/snow left around from the last fall a few days ago. We returned to the Ronny creek car park via Ronny Creek and saw heaps of wombats on the grassy field near the bus pickup area. Total walk was 12.3km.
Dove Lake Circuit (Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park)
12 Jun, 2021
Easy
5.7km return
2 hrs
We did this walk on our first day at Cradle Mountain along with a couple of the shorter walks, and saved the longer walks for the next day.
Enchanted Walk (Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park)
12 Jun, 2021
Very Easy
1.1km one-way

This is a beautifully green forested area that would be beautiful with snow! We saw lots of evidence of wombats - scat and burrows but didn't see any that day.

Horsetail Falls (West Coast Tasmania)
10 Jun, 2021
Easy
800m return

I found the rock layering alongside the walkway really interesting too. The falls would definitely be better after some rain.
Three Falls Trail (Mount Field National Park)
9 Jun, 2021
Medium
6.5km return
2.25 hrs
The moss, lichen and fungi in this area was amazing - it's all so green! Our GPS shows this walk as being 8.35km for 2.5hrs. Just beautiful.
Mount Amos (Freycinet National Park)
8 Jun, 2021
Hard
4km return
3 hrs
My husband did the Mt Amos climb, but I only did the Wineglass bay Lookout walk and then met him on the Mt Amos climb where the granite part started (my boots are not good on slippery surfaces). He felt that while it was challenging there was less scrabbling than he had anticipated. The view was amazing though!
Tahune Airwalk (Tasmania)
6 Jun, 2021
Easy
3km return
2 hrs
There is evidence of recovery after the bush-fires, but I'm guessing the area looks very different from what it did before hand! The suspension bridge across the Huon River has been replaced and the full circuit took 1.5hr for 5.5km (including photo stops).
Sandstone Overhang - 'The Caves' (Ravensbourne National Park)
23 May, 2021

Rainforest Circuit (Ravensbourne National Park)

There are some gorgeous blue gums in this area. It makes you wonder what the rest of the country would have looked like if it hadn't been logged.

The track is being refurbished and will be very easy when it's completed.

Done in conjunction with other walks in the area.
Muntapa Railway Tunnel (Toowoomba)
16 May, 2021
Medium
1km return
30 mins
There are two walks, one to either end of the tunnel. One goes down a set of metal stairs and then back up, and the other is an easy path. There is a colony of bent wing bats inside the tunnel so it is closed off from both ends so they aren't disturbed.
