Granite Arch (Girraween National Park) |

Easy |
1.7km return 30 mins |

| Completed the Northern circuit walks today. Started out towards the Pyramid. My husband wasn’t keen so I went on alone but after getting a third of the way up the last rock face I decided it wasn’t for me. I have made the summit many years ago and didn’t enjoy it. It’s not the height but the severe fear of falling backwards that takes away all enjoyment on these types of rock faces. Very achievable physically for moderate fitness though. The walk to the Junction and remainder of the bald creek circuit is stunning and highly recommended. Easy walking and just amazing scenery. | ||||

Quart Pot Creek Trails (Darling Downs South West) |

| This is a delightful walk along the creek. We started in Folkestone Street and went left from the carpark if facing the creek. This took us down to red bridge and the more untamed part of the creek and along a rough track called Sean’s walk before retracing our steps and crossing the creek before heading in the other direction. Great way to stretch the legs after the drive from Brisbane. | ||||

| Nothing to see, typical Aussie bush but enough hills to keep the average fitness level happy with a moderate workout. | ||||

Blackfellow Creek Glen Rock (South East Queensland) |

Easy |
16km return 4 hrs |

| This was a really lovely walk. The distance is long enough to stretch your legs and give you a few hours on the trail but its flat so easy. Multiple creek crossings to wear older shoes or be prepared to take them off repeatedly. The creeks were running well up to about knee height but easy to cross and so pretty. It was overcast and raining on and off so not too hot but a very exposed walk so could get really hot on a clear summer’s day. | ||||

Mount Wongawallan (Gold Coast) |

| We took the 4km option from Crystal Creek Road. It’s naturally uphill all the way but not ridiculously steep and easy to come back down. Lovely Australian Bush and we had it all to ourselves which is always nice. | ||||

Very Easy |

| This was an unexpectedly lovely walk beside the creek. A little boggy in places but the creek was full and flowing. Wouldn’t be suitable after days of heavy rain as the area clearly floods. | ||||

Crows Nest Falls Circuit (Crows Nest National Park) |
11 Dec, 2021 |
Medium |
4.5km return 2 hrs |
|
| I haven’t been to Crows Nest for over 10 years but used to visit regularly when I lived in Toowoomba and I haven’t seen it flowing as fast and full as it at the moment. The valley of Diamonds had a beautiful flowing creek through the gorge. Mosquitos were prehistoric size however so use insect repellant. | ||||

| Nice easy walk with no steep hills which is unusual for a dam walk. Great views of the water for at least half of the walk and then more filtered views for the rest. I measured just under 3km so a short walk. | ||||
