Protected since 1977, the best kept bushwalking Brisbane North secret of Sheep Station Creek Conservation Park offers walkers and horse riders a quiet and easy escape into nature. Nothing too strenuous, good for families, no need to be super-fit to enjoy this pleasant walk in a bushy environment.

Named after the prominent koala food trees found within its 231 hectares, the bushland reserve is abundant in wildlife including different species of birds, reptiles, butterflies, marsupials and mammals, its open, grassy forests providing an ideal habitat for the resident koala, wallaby, short-beaked echidna, and locally threatened Greater Glider families. Described as the last piece of original bush in the area, it's great to see it's been preserved.

Mt Philp

There is no distinct track to the summit so you will have to navigate your way starting from the information shed opposite the day use area.
This climb can be steep in areas and will require some scrambling approaching the summit but you are rewarded with amazing views of Glen Rock and the ridge lines of the sorrounding area.

Hemmant Quarry Reserve

Hemmant Quarry Reserve is located on Fleming Road in Hemmant, 11 kilometres east of Brisbane's CBD. The 24 hectare reserve is part of the Bulimba Creek Catchment and contains open eucalypt forest and wetland species around an old quarry that is now a water body and wildlife habitat.

The reserve contains important habitat for a wide array of bird species and other wildlife including koalas.

Visitors can enjoy the reserve through a series of short walking tracks starting from the car park on Fleming Road, Hemmant.
