Mt Allan from Charlie Moreland Camp Ground (Conondale National Park)

Didn't think much of the vegetation through the farmed pine forests, no bird life here! Strange for a NP... The ascent was rigorous and steady but manageable for two reasonably fit over 50s. The views were great the higher we got, nice to get to just under the saddle for some almost flat walking before the final ascent to the tower. We saw some Crimson rosellas, couple of wallabies. Had the tower and the walk to ourselves bar one other on a Monday which always improves it for me!!! The tower was the highlight and the views on a showery misty days were beaut

Loved the grandeur and solitude of this magical, spiritual place.

Loved this walk despite the lookout being bathed in fog.. We walked through to Hazard's beach and had the whole thing to ourselves. I preferred hazard's to wineglass bay.. A lovely few hours spent in a beautiful place
Mt Barney - East Peak - South Ridge (Mt Barney Summit)
8 Jun, 2014
Very Hard
17km return

Walked up peasant's ridge for my first walk in camp! Very excited but exhausted. The track was easy to find up to rum jungle, the track to east peak a little more difficult and I would imagine so when the regular cloud comes in. Camped at rum jungle and then walked down the next morning. Tough walk for someone approaching 50 with good fitness. Whetted my appetite though!

Lovely walk on my own. Lots of people in the gorge when you arrive!
Mount Cooroy (Sunshine Coast)

We snuck in around the back of the water factory. We missed the track opening and basically bush bashed almost the whole way. There was a bit of a scramble and lots of underbrush to scratch legs! A magnificent view at the top and then found the track which in hindsight would have been a pleasant stroll! Might go back again to try the proper way. Shame the water company (coca cola) don't provide access to the track.. I love big business!

Did this walk yesterday in the heat of the day. Wow! Pretty much a constant climb involving chains and metal steps. I had a healthy respect for the King of the Mountain participants before going up but man, anyone who can run up and back in less than an hour really deserves a whole lot of cudos.
Fabulous view, enjoyed with some amazing company. A real achievement after a few months being a little sedentary. Has spurred me on to walk more!!

A great quick walk to get the blood pumping... spectacular view even if it highlights the gradual infection of development over the coast...
