Drizzling rain and late arvo sun peaking through the clouds gave us this time a perfect atmoshere.

A picturesque walk that ticks many boxes. We liked the extensive piccabeen grove, fruiting black beans and a few interesting buttressed trees and strangler figs. Walked it shortly after good rain-an added bonus. Access from Curtis Rd is a bit longer but more scenic in my view.

Pleasant (and quiet on weekdays) stroll after a picnic in the well maintained day use area.

Prickly pear fruit is in season-delicious. Westcott picnic area is a very scenic place for a cooked lunch.

Don't miss the Bottle Tree Bluff lookout detour. (where are the bottle trees?) Great spot for morning tea in winter with the sun warming you up.

A sudden surprise as I was leaving the Bunya Mountains. No indicator along the road, just a parking spot with a clean toilet. Tucked away the trail and an info sign. Bunya pines and king parrots along the walk. Well maintained and a picnic table for those with more time. A real hidden (not advertised) gem.
