Decent year for king orchids. I estimate they will open up by the weekend. Do not wear your new hiking shirt, the wait-a-while palms recovered well during last year and will rip it to pieces. A few fallen tees on the Part off the border track.

Network of short trails. Combine from 2km to 12km. Great place to bring visitors who are keen to see kangaroos.

A walk the whole family can enjoy. If you can, avoid the usual popular times to find a suitable parking spot.

The walk can easily be extended with pathways along the various lakes in the area, often with views over the water towards bush areas or at present along green spaces with blooming grevilleas.

Pleasant. Quiet. Along the adjusted access trail to the bitumen track two giant gum trees.

Very enjoyable in winter. Had to “deal” with a blue-tongued lizard on the trail. Remarkable volume level as he/ she was hissing at me. Wouldn’t label the track anymore suitable for wheelchairs. The bitumen path has certainly seen better days.

Just for exercise. No need to put the walk on the wishlist.. ..For scenic views I would rather stick to the Ocean track return (presently still closed) from Fleys Wildlife Parl or head over to Burleigh Heads NP.
