Emu Mountain (aka Mt. Peregian) (Sunshine Coast)

Easy

Easiest mountain hike I have done. Much more bushland in the view than Mt Coolum 3km away. Multiple places you can stand so you get a view of everything. It got its nickname due to the emus that lived up here. I post photos of my hikes to instagram.com/spring_beans and I am based in the Sunshine Coast :)

This one was better than I thought because of the large rocks slightly off the trail that you can get amazing views from! Better views than I expected too! Loved it!! I post photos of my hikes to instagram.com/spring_beans am based in the Sunshine Coast :)
Mt Tibberoowuccum (Glass House Mountains)

this trail entrance was hard to find. it starts as walking on the 4wd trail off Marshs rd, just past the Mt Tibrogargan carpark (heading away from Mt tibrogargan then past its carpark). we didnt come across anyone else on a Saturday afternoon. we came to where we assumed was the end of the trail but glad we had the Alltrails map open because we followed it to the very end where there was some rock scrambling.. not much. my husbands favourite of the four Glasshouse mountains we have hiked! use mosquito spray.. they were biting us in large numbers at certain points in the trail! spectacular view of tibrogargan, coonowrin, mt beerwah, the twins etc. I read online that kids could do this, but I wouldnt take my children due to the rock scrambling and have to be careful near the edges.. its such a long way to drop. not a long hike so theres a fair bit of steep hiking. Baxter Falls - Northern Approach (Kondalilla National Park)
Feb, 2019
Medium

I recommend only doing this walk if youre after the bushwalking. It was a lot of effort for this small waterfall and you can go to bigger and better ones with less effort. If youre after a swim.. Goodness knows whats in the water here. But at least at the closeby gardners falls and kondalilla falls, swimming is alot more popular there, maybe less gross things in the water? Or not. The walk back was tiring and felt like it took forever.. Just alot of uphill in the humidity. Alot of big rocks near the waterfall that are suitable to sit and eat on. Lovely place to swim and/or eat. Water is cold so enjoy swimming if you dont mind that. Very popular for swimming. . Parking can be an issue. Even just coming here for a short stroll is lovely. I post photos of my hikes to instagram.com/spring_beans am based in the Sunshine Coast :)

Mt Cooroora (Sunshine Coast)

Took 2-3 hours, including some time at the summit. As we approached this mountain we thought it was too steep and too tall for us to reach the summit. We had an 8 year old with us. But we all did, and glad we did as it was an accomplishment that we thoroughly enjoyed! Wear. Good. Grip. Footwear!! :P. And avoid when it's rainy or you may slip all over the steep rocks. The views at the top are in different locations where trees arent obstructing, as there are many trees at the top. Still great photo spots. One of my favourite mountains I've done! One hiker we met brings her four year old up, although I wouldnt, as it was a challenge for the 8 year old with us. Stay by the chains when they are there. At one point we didnt because another way looked easier. That was a mistake as I got 'stuck'with genuine fear at that point. Pretty high mountain so if youre pretty scared of heights, might not be for you. I post photos of my hikes to instagram.com/spring_beans and I am based in the Sunshine Coast :)
