Did this as part of a Mt Cordeaux, Bare Rock trip solo trip (hey it is all tracks).

Enjoyed this most of three locations visited. Especially as I was the only on Mt Mitchell after I passed the last two parties coming down. View are outstanding along most of the trail. The only annoyance is the noise coming from the highway of the trucks and bus going up and down.

Almost cold as the wind was blowing a bit but pleasant enough.

Very happy with the return from the summit taking a touch over a hour (5.2 km but all down hill). Mt Mitchell is a good walk as the incline is quite mild but it does go up and up.

Great way to start the new year :-)

A there and back walk from Binna Burra. Left 7:00am, made O'Reillys at 12:00, started the return walk at 12:30 and back to the car at 5:40ish (with very sore and tired feet). Finished the last 3 kms or so in the rapidly dwindling light bordering on almost torch territory. About what I had expected to do the day in.

Bit muddy and wet given the rain in the previous days but cool and crisp. I think the first 15km or so from the Binna Burra side is the best with outstanding views and scenery.

Thanks goodness for carrying hot coffee and my walking poles otherwise it would have taken me at least an extra hour or more on the way back.

The walk that got me back into bush walking again!!

Why on earth I picked this not sure other than I wanted to watch the sun rise.

Up at 1am!!. At the mountina by 3am (and a bit worried about having enough fuel to get back to a servo - left Brisbane a bit light on). On the trail and up we go. My only mistake was not checking the torch batteries as they died an hour in and I was left wondering what to do. Thankfully the mobile phone glow was enough to avoid tripping over the steps.

I had more than few envious glances of the themos of coffee I carried to the top and mighty glad of it I was too. That and stripping off the soaking wet tshirt and vest.

Sunrise was great except for having to share with too many other people (and a few idiots).

I will remember this walk well as I suffered for about three days afterwards with sore muscles. I could barely walk on the Wednesday and ANY downward slope was painful (and I had to laugh at myself otherwise I would have screamed)

Glad I did it as it lead to so many other walks I have been doing.

Return to Lamington after an abscene.

Drove in early morning trying to work out what to do and did this.

Throughly enjoyed it though I would like to go back in summer with pair of divers boots, a min wet suit and rock-hop paddle through the creek instead of walking along side of it.
