Moss's Well (Main Range National Park)

Looks very different from the picture presented now. Water looks like it's flowing from a rock nearby and has formed a little creek running over the already full well. I'd only take a look if you were on the road already. Interesting information boards.

Fantastic swimming hole to explore, very popular from about 9am onwards. Well worth the trip as it's a very short walk and close to the Currumbin Rock Pools.
Lower River Track (Daintree National Park)

We started this walk at 4:45pm and avoided most of the crowds. Beautiful swimming spot with a hanging bridge to cross the river. Note that you cannot drive to the start of this walk, a bus from the Mossman Visitor Centre will take you for a small fee. If you miss the last bus however you can walk 2km down the road to the carpark (I just don't recommend doing this at night).

Definitely worth a visit!
Jindalba Boardwalk (Daintree National Park)

We did this purely to try and spot a cassowary. We weren't successful but we did spot the Ulysses and Birdwing butterflies as well as some beautiful Kingfishers.
Dubuji Boardwalk (Daintree National Park)

This was a really fun little walk and it was a good break from the long, winding drive from Cairns to Cape Trib. Spotted alot of little critters and snapped some great pics of birds/butterflies etc. We came at a good time as 3 bus loads of tour groups were just packing up. It must be very popular in the high season.
Kulki Boardwalk (Daintree National Park)

Nice final walk after a long drive from Cairns. I wish we had more time to go for a swim here.

Note: There are signs everywhere for stingers along the beach.
Pompeii Cave (North Queensland)

Completed this walk as one of many done on our only day in Chillagoe. Almost left the cave without realising we could walk through a dark tunnel. The first daylight chamber is spectacular enough as it is! Wallabies/roo's clearly love this cave, watch your step!
Balancing Rock (North Queensland)

This was a great addition to our caving day. The art site was not as impressive as the Archways but still worth a visit.
The Archways (North Queensland)

This walk is a must for anyone passing through Chillagoe. A really good example of rock art with some fun 'caves' to explore. Bring a spare camera battery and a torch!
Bauhinia Cave (North Queensland)

We did this walk and were prepared with multiple torches, one on my head and one in my mouth, hands were used to steady myself and take photos. There were no bats in this cave but the silence and blackness was quite eerie. I definitely recommend for something different and a possible mental challenge.
Donna Cave, Chillagoe (North Queensland)

Fantastic show cave. Guide was very knowledgeable and the caves were spectacular. I definitely recommend taking the trip out but spending a night in Chillagoe as there's so much to do and explore!
Eubenangee Swamp (North Queensland)

We ended up jogging this walk to avoid donating all my blood to the local mozzies. Also ended up doing the wrong walk first. It's REALLY hard to miss the start of the walk as there is a massive sign but somehow we did.

If you're in the area, I recommend popping in just to see the differences in landscapes.
Babinda Boulders (North Queensland)

Beautiful walk to picturesque area. It's easy to see why there are so many deaths in the area though, water flows over smooth boulders with crevices where they meet the creek bed. Eek! It's safe to swim at the start of the walk and is encouraged. Very popular in summer months! Also there are heaps of butterflies!
Josephine Falls (Wooroonooran National Park)

Beautiful set of three waterfalls discharging to pools popular with swimmers. I had great fun going down the natural 'slide' and being dumped in a deep plunge pool. Very beautiful rainforest. Highly recommend! :D
The Northbrook River Trail (Northbrook Gorges) (Brisbane Forest park D'Aguilar National Park)

This is well worth doing. There were several swims along the way (longest 15-20m) followed by a large pool in the second gorge with a short waterfall you could climb around. It's quite popular with bush walking groups. Beautiful photos :) Oh and no leeches!
Note: You can continue up past the second gorge, more rock pools and small waterfalls. Make it a day trip for sure!
Tamborine Rainforest Skywalk (South East Queensland)

Chose to do this on the last day of 2014 and it was pretty crowded! It's something different but I didn't see any wildlife due to the loud pedestrian traffic. Nice views on a clear day.

Nice falls with a surprisingly short walk. A lot of tourists and nature photographers who I photobombed.

Very hot walk on a 35*C day. It was great to dip our feet into the falls until we noticed the hoardes of leeches. I've had bad luck with these critter lately. Ick!
Oh and great views out Teviot way! :D
Gwongoorool Rock Pools (Lamington National Park)

It poured the entire walk but we were lucky enough to see one of the Lamington Crays halfway up the walk, a long way from water. It was leech city which I felt terrible about as I brought a friend who had never seen a leech before. So I had the honour of introducing her to her first, then another 16 or so. The walk took 2 hours including stopping to remove leeches consistently on the return trip. I thought the pools were an anticlimax in comparison to other swimming holes in the area. It's a relaxing walk I recommend in the dry however not a favourite.
Twin Falls Circuit (Springbrook National Park)

Chose to do this just before a storm so we were walking through a very cloudy valley. It's an easy walk with lots of picturesque waterfalls and overhangs. I recommend, especially when it's cloudy :) Also, we walked anticlockwise, it seemed all the traffic was clockwise and a lot of people started from Canyon Lookout.
