This the fourth time I have done this walk. I can't say that it gets any easier, in fact as I get less capable it becomes harder. I would still find it hard to pass it up next time. For the first time we were privy to the wonderful views from the southern lookouts over Limpinwood, the Tweed Valley and Mt Warning. We started at about 900 metres high, climbed to 1200 over the next 10 kms strolled back down to around 850. The highlight was the amazing stands of Antarctic beeches near Mount Wanungra.

Great variety of flora from rainforest to scrubland and montane heath. Today had a variety of weather too. we confirmed that this one is best done in a clockwise direction after rain.

Did this walk as a reccie for the Gold Coast Midweek Walking Group. Four of us started at the carpark and headed down to the Wentworth Falls Lookout in light rain. We went down to the falls crossing, switched back down the incredible Slack's stairs and the accompanying scary but safe ladder system ending up at the base of these amazing falls. After a few creek crossings and more waterfalls, we started to climb in heavier rain up beside the equally amazing Empress Falls. This one of my favourite walks which I will have to do again as mist prevented any hope of seeing the amazing views from the lookouts.

Did the walk with the GC Midweek Walking Group. We quickly got over the disappointment of not being able to do the full circuit due to some construction work around Tallabana Picnic Area and Twin Falls. We decided to head down to the Meeting of the Waters via Canyon Lookout and the northern section of the Twin Falls Circuit.
The track was dry but recent rain meant the falls were flowing. After passing behind Blackfellow Falls, we joined the Warrie Circuit and headed down via Poondahra and Poonyahra Falls. We encountered a Python and a green tree snake, (the latter scarily looking like a yellow bellied brown) before we got to the rugged Gooroolba Falls.
We lunched at the Meeting of the Waters in the company of a slow moving red bellied black.
The weather cooled nicely for the climb back up. We only covered 12 kms instead of 17, but thoroughly enjoyed the walk, all the while accompanied by whip birds, cat birds and a mysterious noise maker.

This and the companion walk Toolona Circuit are my favourites in Green Mountains. Went with GC Midweek Walking and everyone enjoyed it. Recent rain made the waterfalls spectacular, the creek crossings difficult and the leeches abundant.

I loved this walk. My favorite walks are the ones like this, Christmas Creek, West Canungra Circuit, Coomera Circuit, where you get to follow a creek as it makes its way up to its origins, with regular cascades, waterfalls, pools and creek crossings.
We were lucky enough to have scheduled this walk a few days after rain, so the creeks and falls were spectacular. Mist helped give the walk a gothic atmosphere.
