Wineglass Bay/Hazards Beach Circuit (Freycinet National Park)
9 Jan, 2018
Medium
11.5km return
4 hrs
This was a great coastal walk. While this track is longer than returning from Wineglass Bay via the same route, it is much easier due to the large number of steps that need to be ascended on the way back. Though the path should be easy to follow, we did lose it at one point by following a path it looked like others had taken. We soon found ourselves wondering which way to go next - a sure sign that we were off the track. We retraced ourselves and were surprised at how clear the real track was. We must have stepped over a branch that should have said "This is not the way".

This is the second time we've been here. It's always a great sight. Great views along the coastline too from the carpark.
Bicheno Foreshore Footwalk (East Coast)

Medium

Great ocean views from this walk - really cool rocks. The blowhole was fun too. We got confused around the lifesaving club. Didn't have the map on us, and ended up taking to the street for a while, and picked up the track again after the Gulch.
Three Falls Trail (Mount Field National Park)

Lovely walk with three beautiful waterfalls. We have seen a lot of waterfalls but Russel Dalls has to be among the best if not the best we have seen.
Platypus Bay (Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park)

We didn’t walk at the right time of the day to see platypus, but the beach is very pleasant.
Mt Wellington - Summit Lookouts (Wellington Park)
5 Jan, 2018
Very Easy
400m return
30 mins
Absolutely amazing views from up there. We were fortunate that the top of the mountain wasn't clouded in. We heard that it was the day before, and freezing. It was cool, but not too bad. The wind was another story. So strong. I dropped the cap off my camera and had to chase it way down the car park. I thought I was going to lose it!
Horsetail Falls (West Coast Tasmania)
4 Jan, 2018
Easy
800m return
20 mins
We were fortunate to see this walk from the road during summer, and seeing the boardwalk on the side of the bare mountain, just had to do it. The view of the waterfall is better from halfway along than at the end, but the walk is fun.

Beautiful falls and equally beautiful walk to get to it. The path was quite muddy in places.
Dove Lake Circuit (Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park)
3 Jan, 2018
Easy
5.7km return

It's summer and it's still really cold. Overnight temperatures went down to 3 degrees. It rained lightly through the walk but didn't spoil it. Lots of people were walking. It's a beautiful walk with lots of varied vegetation.
Hansons Peak (Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park)
2 Jan, 2018
Hard
5km return
2 hrs
This wasa great walk. The day we went up, we were advised against going up to the peak at Cradle, but this walk was recommended followed by the face track and the horse track. Cradle Mountain was shrouded in cloud, so this was a great option. The wind was a bit strong on the way up, but not so much once we made it all the way.
Face Track (Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park)
2 Jan, 2018

We started at Dove Lake and climbed Hanson's Peak before heading out along the Face Track. Just loved it. It was a bit rough, but well worth it.

We were amazed to see wombats grazing near the Ronnie's Creek end of this walk. Amazing to see so many during the late afternoon while it is still light.

Honeyeater Track (Mt. Coot-tha)
28 Oct, 2017
Medium

The first part of the track was quite busy with people walking up and sow. The second part we were the only ones there. It is a really steep tough walk. Photos couldn't do it justice.
Zamia Walk (Central Queensland)
21 Oct, 2017
Hard
15km one-way
5 hrs
Having only one car we decided to start at the bottom and work our way up, knowing that the descent would be easier. It took us 4 hours to go up and 3.5 to come back down. The Creek was flowing quite high and we started the walk taking our shoes off to cross as too many rocks were under water. However after doing that four times we gave up and wore our shoes through the water as it was taking too long. Just before the top it started raining and it rained most of the way down. It really wasn't a problem though. It was really quite refreshing. We sure did feel our muscles afterwards.
Mt Archer Skywalk (Central Queensland)

This is a great place to visit with fantastic views over Rockhampton. Unfortunately there is maintenance work happening at the lookout at the moment so part of the track is cost off.
