Easily one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Australia, Ebor Falls cascade over 100 metres down tiered columns of graphite coloured rock. In fact, there are at least two waterfalls to see, all within walking distance of the car park. Big waterfalls, cascading through ferns and rainforest, down to the valley floor, with spectacular views down the Guy Fawkes River National Park.
Round Mountain is the highest point of the New England Tablelands, at 1579m. However, the summit is occupied by Airservices Australia as an Air Navigation Facility, but this does not stop you walking around the perimeter and enjoying the views.
Enjoy the tranquility and serenity of the mangrove habitat is through Route 1. This route goes around the two main ponds and gives a good introduction to the Reserve and the birds of Sungei Buloh, especially during the migratory season from September to March
A short circuit around the wetlands
Spectacular views of the volcanic landscape of Warrumbungle National Park await you at Whitegum Lookout. It provides you with a perspective of the many other walks and climbs that the National Park has to offer.
Short and easy, Wambelong Nature Track is big on rewards and ideal for wildlife and bird watching. The track rises steeply with an awe-inspiring vista of the valley and Split Rock, where you’ll gaze across unique rock outcrops and dramatic spires shaped by volcanic activity 13-17 millions of years ago and then through a small, sheltered gorge.
Avid birdwatchers will love Burbie Canyon walking track, which offers a gentle stroll along the creek and through a narrow sandstone gorge. Indeed, the birdlife is so varied here, you can’t help but go bird watching. This is a terrific track for families, the kids will love it.
Situated around a large sandstone outcrop, the Sandstone Caves are a series of cathedral type caves and overhangs displaying an array of interesting colours and shapes. They have been formed over tens of thousands of years through the weathering of the fragile sandstone.
The Sandstone Caves are an Aboriginal site for the local Gamilaraay people. Grinding grooves, rock art and other Aboriginal sites provide a strong link with their traditional times.
Mount Coryah walking track offers scenic views of Euglah Rock and great bird watching opportunities within Mount Kaputar National Park.
