Crystal Rockslides is a great spot for cooling off, having fun and enjoying the Paluma Range National Park experience. A short 500m walk on sealed surfaces, with an uphill section before taking the shady path to reach the Rockslides.
A (very) short down to a viewing platform to view the waterfall, if there has been some rain.
The last few hundred metres of the drive on on a chewed up dirt road, I was in a 2wd car and it was a bit iffy.
From the car park of the fantastic Hartz Mountains Nation park this is an easy walk however the weather can turn into blizzard conditions at the drop of a hat, we were lucky, middle of summer weather held out for us but was still only 13 degrees. Beautiful views of the surrounding ranges & lake Esperance will not disappoint, despite the temp I’d have gone swimming if I’d had a towel. Very mild incline for the first part of the walk but very easy overall Highly Recommend
A family-friendly 1.8km circular walk around one of the few remaining patches of coastal forest in Mooloolaba. This 45 min walk leads through a patch of coastal rain forest with towering paperbark trees and palms providing ample shade and valuable habitat for local wildlife.
Keep an eye out for the flying fox and bin chicken roosts on the western section of the walk and the odd water dragon sunning itself on the edge of the path.
A short walk through the Mount Nathan Reserve to the summit of Mount Nathan with some views of the Gold Coast.
A walk in Nerang National Park ascending via the Nerang Break to the highest point in the National Park and then following the ridge North till dropping down to the Western Break via the steep 400 Break. Then following the Western Break to the start.
A short walk in the forest from Apple Tree Park with views through the trees to Numinbah Valley.
A moderate hike in a lesser known part of the Blue Mountains with fantastic views the whole way.
Short walk through swampy teatree, climbing up to exposed rocky goat path to summit and surrounds. There is good water halfway up and at the plateau the track branches off. Take the left path to the summit, the last 500m is unmarked and offers some rock scrambling and pushing through low bushes. The right leads to hilltop lakes, a cave for overnight camping and a great view of the ampetheatre lake Huntley
A nice half day walk from the end up Farmborough Road up to the summit of Mt Kembla where you will be rewarded with fantastic views over Wollongong.
