Getting there

Drive to the end of Farmsborough Road and park your car at the end of the coldesac. You will see a gate with a sign saying Farmsborough Road (road continues part way up to the mountain, no vehicle access).

Route/Trail notes

After the gate you will walk up a paved road. Not far past the last signs of civilisation you will see a track on your left with a sign saying 'Mt Kembla Ring Trail'. This track leads you through a really nice mostly flat rainforest section. 1.2kms later you will pop out near the top of the escarpment (it is possible to start the walk from here as there is a carpark nearby), there you will turn right and head up to the summit. From there it is a moderately steep walk up to the summit where you will see a number of great outlooks.

Comments

Great walk, with some fantastic views over Wollongong! Glad I started from the bottom and not half way up. Didn't see all that many people so had the track to myself for the most part. Very easy to follow trail, don't need a GPS or a map. I would say overall it is very similar to Mt Edwards in QLD. Saw a friendly red belly black snake on my descent.
