From Fishermans Beach make your way to the old runway behind the resort which you can follow to Long Beach. Then you can head over the head land past an aboriginal shell midden to Monkey Beach then to shelving and back to Fishermans.
One way walk there and back to see Snug Falls. Easy, well maintained trail. Start is at elevation 270m, Snug Falls at elevation 190m.
Access via Snug Falls Road (branching left from Snug Tiers Road), with the trailhead just up the hill slightly from the designated parking area.
Lesser known than Port Arthur though arguable a more authentic experience and its free. While Port Arthur has been rebuilt quite a bit the coal mines is a more untouched ruin. When we were there we were also the only people.
Near Cascade Brewery on Old Farm Road. Two waterfalls short walk
A short walk to viewing platform and then down to the bottom of the falls. Great for a swim, although the pool bottom is very rocky and slippery (wear shoes).
From the Eastern end of Wategos popular beach parking is difficult. Enter trail and take it up to the light house and back passing the furthest East point of the Australian mainland.
About a k and half each way plus another k for detour to Cape Byon. Optional detour to Little Wategos Beach/ lookout via board walk.
A stream and waterfall seal pups come to play in at certain times of the year.
Ohau Point Seal Colony, Kaikoura
A walk in the Nitmiluk National Park.
This is a 25 km circuit walk that takes you along the banks of a lovely river for 7 kms and then up onto a valley between two ridges, giving wonderful views of snow capped mountains(season dependent), before coming back down to Belesta.
A short walk around the Queenstown Foreshore.
