Glass House Mountain Lookout

Glass House Mountains National Park

The lookout is about 10km from the Glass House Mountains township, in Beerburrum West State Forest. It offers panoramic views of the mountain peaks, Caloundra, Maroochydore, Brisbane and Moreton Island. A short walking track starting at the lookout leads you through open scribbly gum forest, down through a wet eucalypt forest gully and returns back to the lookout.

Comments

Good views from the lookout. Big carpark and heaps of people. Although this site and also the board at the walk says it is there and back, it is actually a circuit, which you can see from other walkers comments. Not a whole lot to look at but a nice walk. Although I did this at the time we had consistent rain, it wasn't too bad. A bit wet in a few spots but pretty good and able to jog it.

Easy walk, nice warm up before tackling one of the other circuits or summit walks…..

Good parking, wildlife and no climbing!

Short and easy for semi fit people, track is well maintained and even after the rain was not too slippery - be aware there are quite a few bush steps to navigate.

same day trip as Mt Nungung, wild horse mt. You can just drive there and enjoy the view!

Good views

The loop is easy enough but quite boring as there are no views. Skip the walk unless you want some exercise. The views from the lookout are fabulous!

Not much of a view on the walk itself but nice enough. There are better views from Wild Horse Mountain or from one of the mountains itself

What a view!!!

Great little rest spot, with toilets, shade, tables and a view to die for and a popular hot spot for 4WDs to meet before starting out.

The small walk is not needed to see the view, as there is a raised platform next to the car park. Most of the Glass House Mountains can be seen from this spot, which helps to put them into perspective along with the information boards.

Came here for my daughter's graduation photos. Great views.

The views from the car park have great views of the Glasshouse Mountains, this walk does a loop around the lookout. I'd give the walk a skip and just go to the lookout.

More than just a car park / look out point. Take this little walk around. Also a good spot to return to and view all those mountains you've ticked off your list ;-)
