Coombabah Lakelands Conservation Area

Queensland

There is no direct track, just a heap of different paths, where you can wonder through the conservation area spotting all sorts of wildlife. Especially kangaroos, that are slowly becoming more used to humans, so you can get some really nice photos of some semi wild kangaroos. Otherwise there are koalas and bird life also to enjoy.

Cycling Permitted

Getting there

Park at the car park on Shelter Road, (entrance via; Rain Tree Glen).

Maps

See City of Gold Coast for maps of the conservation area.

Route/Trail notes

Just walk around the conservation area, there are some so called tracks you can follow, however it is suggested you just walk the way you want. Recomend having a walk down one of the management trails where the track is a bit more in denser bush.
Due to the swamplands surrounding, mosiqutoes are in big numbers here all year round.

Was a great walk! We saw five Koalas, Kangaroos, I went with my Pram, containing my 1 yr old and my 3 yr old and it was perfect. Went for 1 hour, but you can go for less or more, a real treasure of a walk

You can walk for a few minutes and see the kangaroos or you can go all the way to the end of the conservation area for about a 1.5 hour walk. without any breaks
