This short stroll along the shady banks of Carnarvon Creek provides a snapshot of the plant life on the gorge floor. You can see turtles basking in the sun, and if you're quiet enough you may see the elusive platypus. Dusk and dawn provide the best opportunities for watching wildlife.

Easy stroll from camp grounds back to visitors centre. Plenty of wild life about and a good taste of what to expect on the longer walks in the area

Pleasant walk around the parking & visitor area. The is a riverbed to walk over so one needs to be steady on foot. Good walk if combined with the other short, park & walk spots like Mickey Creek, Rock Pools, Baloon Cave.

Flew into Roma and hired a four wheel drive to go to Carnarvan Gorge. Had a great time visiting the gorge. We added a few more walks on our three day stay, like the Art Gallery, Wards Canyon,Amphitheater,Moss Garden, and Boolimba Bluff. Checked out the Platapus which is done early morning or late evening just before sundown. Had a BBQ every night this was a great adventure.
