Getting there

Take the train to Fushimi Inari Station on the Keihan Line. From there walk to the large Torii gate and walk past the main temple to where there is a large number of torii gates. When you reach a fork in the road where there are two large strings of torii gates, take the path on the right and follow this to the top.

Route/Trail notes

The walk is very picturesque, but often overcrowded. There are more people doing the hike than the path is designed for. However, the further you get to the top, the less people there are. The whole time there is a paved path with steps. There are no toilets on the mountain, so make sure you go before commencing the hike.
