Great Views - Highly recommended!
Just over 14km return from the car park.
Well worth the hike to the summit for sunrise, well maintained track with reflective markers.
Steep steps approx 1km from the carpark. Once pass the 3km marker ground is relatively flat with gradual incline.
Good rest spot Approx 5.5km, caution required when approaching in windy conditions or at night exposed steps.
Return via same track, very little shade on return and temperatures can vary rapidly. To avoid heatstroke pack plenty of water and a hat. In colder months warm layers of clothing and wind proof jackets are a must!

Nice easy to follow track the entire way - would have no issue doing it in the dark with a torch. Quite similar to Mt Bruce in WA whereby you gain elevation relatively slowly due to the long horizontal component. The main difference between Sonder in Bruce is that Sonder is just a walking track, no climbing or scrambling sections. We elected not to go to the true summit as it was approaching 40 degrees and the route looked a bit dodgy and spinifex-y. And seeing as we were already covered in spinifex scars from our ill-fated attempt at Mt Zeil the day before, we were happy enough to enjoy the 360 views at the slightly lower peak.

360° views from the summit.
Start early if keen to make it to the summit for sunrise.
If your lucky to have a full moon it will help to lead the pathway, however the stars and planets are much more visible/vivid in a dark night sky so either way your in for a treat!
