| On our afternoon drive from Boonah to Kilarney this (the 4th set of waterfalls) was the most challenging of the walks involving slippery creek banks and numerous creek 'rock hopping' crossings. | ||||

| When it says showery conditions, take it as being wet on 'cloud catcher' Wollumbin. I've climbed this several times in my teenage and early 20s - in the humid heat of Boxing Day with the cicadas noise pulsing in my brain and the more comfortable short cool days of winter, but never in the wet until this time. Mr 19 with long legs and youth did it in 3 hours, Miss 13 found it memorable for the 5 hours of climbing triggered her CRMO to be debilitating enough in the following 2-3 weeks to get an MRI and eventual diagnosis, while I persevered on my 40-something year old legs and was back in a warm car with the kids after 6.5 hours. I cannot believe I was back within a month to do it all again on a sunnier day! |
