Great Walk! Gold Coast Hinterland (Lamington National Park)
29 Sep, 2018
54km one-way
3 days
This really is a great walk! It was first multi-day hike and perhaps a little ambitious, but definitely worth it. I recommend booking ahead for the Binna Burra accommodation during peak times as I tried a few weeks out from the long weekend with no luck. We ended up booking after a cancellation on the day. We got lucky the night at the Walkers camp - not another soul there. It was so peaceful. Be aware - we arrived at night time and the map at the walkers camp was misleading, it almost led us up the path more. The camp is directly straight ahead when walking past the toilets (with the toilets on the right). I would recommend taking water purifying tablets as there was no 'drinkable' water after Binna Burra. There is no water at the walkers camp so it's best to make the most of the creeks! Overall, (side from blisters and body ailments!), this walk was really great and has definitely inspired me to do more.

Mt Mitchell (Main Range National Park)

Great walk that meanders around the mountain. Awesome views from the top. Only really steep bit right at the end but otherwise I imagine most people with a decent level of fitness would enjoy this.
Somerset Trail (Brisbane Forest park D'Aguilar National Park)

Nice walk, mostly flat. Don't expect a grand "lookout", we found a better view just up the path. Took 3 hours in total, only stopped for 5min at the lookout and a couple of times throughout the trail. The path is clear but keep an eye out for signage posts, of you're looking down you migjt miss them. Great way to spend a Sunday morning!
Mount Jim Crow (Central Queensland)

Short but steep hike! No official walk, but someone kindly spray painted the way! Well one of the ways, there seem to be many routes. We went up and down in an hour without too much difficulty. It was a hot day which was ok going up it was quite shaded, but not much shade at the top.
