Getting there

At the lower end of the bottom carpark of the Maiala picnic ground. The Maiala Picnic Ground is on Mt Glorious Rd near the intersection with Browns Rd and is well signposted. The Picnic Ground has modern and clean toilets at the top of the picnic area (but are not well stocked !!).

Route/Trail notes

With a boardwalk this track is achievable for most fitness levels, however walkers with knee/ankle problems should be aware that there are several sets of stairs (some wooden staircases with handrails, some natural rock steps.)

Nice walk , quite easy with different scenery along the way . Bit disappointed as no actual lookout point once you reach the falls. Still worth the walk tho !

Nice walk. Very shady. Did this early on a Monday morning. Not another soul to be seen. I saw a couple of red necked pademelons. Also, lots of lizards and birdlife.

Trying to escape the heatwave hitting SEQ today, but even 37 degrees at Mt Glorious. This is a very pleasant walk, some variety to the trail, lots of wildlife and fun things to show the kids. We will come back here regularly.

Kids loved it!

Still lots of storm damage, with trees over the boardwalk and some points missing. pretty easy to get around however and I hear every week there's more and more work done to it.

Very easy walk, barely raised a sweat, but was beautiful to sit at the waterfall.

Nice and easy but some parts were temporarily blocked off due to recent weather events.

A lovely length for primary school aged kids. We came back via cypress grove and the rainforest walk which was a lovely way to come back but a bit steeper than I was expecting. Overall an easy walk even with the kids. Very popular.

I enjoyed this walk but be warned it mostly is downhill you have an uphill battle on the return journey so small children need to be carried.

Good walk. Really busy though.

I enjoyed this walk, it was very peaceful in the rainforest

A great little walk. I left the boardwalk at the end and descended along the old path and steps to the base of the falls and continued down to check the conditions of the other falls.

Laurence Hallam on 13 Nov, 2010

A great walk for the family, easy paths to negotiate, with a nice platform area at the end overlooking the falls.

jason pobjoy on 22 May, 2010

Go along the rainforest walk at the junction take the track to the left (or straight) continue through to Browns Road cross the road and continue downhill. Leave cypress grove track until you come back. follow the boardwalks to a platform overlooking Greens Falls.
After heavy rain the lookout is amazing. This is one of the most popular walks in this area.

Boris Zoubakin on 20 Dec, 2009

a good short walk or for someone inexperienced.

Susan Edwards on 2009

Always a good walk. On this occasion we saw a cat bird and a Satin Bowerbird nest.

Ian and Sue on 26 Jan, 2008

Nice walk. Such a pity the track doesn't go down to the bottom of the falls anymore, so you can't see too much, but never the less a pleasant way to spend an afternoon.
