The West Cliff Track branches to the right from the Python Rock Track and then immediately sharp left past a Black Booyong with extensive buttressing and a tall Hoop Pine 30 metres further down the track.

Pat’s Bluff affords a view over the Albert and Logan River valleys to the Great Dividing Range. Follow the cliff line down past a view of Raining Cliff to the picnic area. Pat O’Reilly’s log cabin is 70 metres in from this spot. Peregrine Falcons nest in caves in these cliffs and often rest in the dead trees above the cliff line

Getting there

Drive along Lamington National Park Rd towards O'Reilly's Rainforest Retreat.  There is a very small (two cars) parking slip on the side of the road between the Python Rock / Moran Falls Carpark and the Luke O'Reilly's Farm service road.

Route/Trail notes

One-way walk: The entrance to this walk is often overgrown so it can be hard to find.  Once you pass the entrance the track is more visible and easier to follow.  If you have trouble finding the entrance just use the Python Rock track until you reach a junction with a bench and the information sign about Albert Lyrebirds.  Then follow the track going away from Python Rock. Return the way you came.

Circuit (via Luke O'Reilly's Farm): Walk along the Luke O'Reilly's Farm service road, enter the private property gate (be respectful of their property and keep to the track), follow the driveway turning left shortly after follow the track.  Starting heading down the hill, the track will head up a moderate climb then end up at Pat's Bluff.  After enjoying the views, continue along the well-defined track through the National Park.

Amazing views from the Bluff and pretty walk

Did the circuit starting at the start point for Python Rock. Got a little off the track coming up towards the hut. Lovely easy walk and we took our time stopping for morning tea and time to explore the creek.

Super location for sunset and a picnic.

Another great visit. Unfortunately recent storms have brought down a massive tree at the Python Rock/Pat's Bluff track junction. Access has been made through Phython Rock but the track to Pat's Bluff requires a short (1 min) and easy bush-bash (you'll see the track signage through the bushes, head towards it). Besides this, the track has not been affected by any other major obstacles. Continue on for some amazing views.

Breathtaking views, possibly the best in the area. Highly recommended. The entrance was hard to find so did the circuit starting through Luke's Farm, the track through here is a little unclear so best to bring a map. You might want to check out Luke's Bluff while you're in that section. Returning via the standard track was a lot clearer. About 5 minutes from the road a tree has fallen (seems like a while ago), there is orange tape to guide you around this.
