The Box Forest Track leaves the Picnic Rock track 2.7 km from the entrance and is a most rewarding circuit walk. The track winds down through stands of Brush Box and Piccabeen Palms, to the lush sub-tropical rainforest along Canungra Creek. Pepper Vines cling to tall trees that often support spectacular tree gardens.

Turn right at the next track junction. During wet times, you will have to wade through the water when crossing above Wajinya Falls. The track continues near the top of the falls on the other side. Darragumai Falls and Picnic Rock are considered good lunch spots. Don't miss Box Log and Elabana Falls on the way home.

This circuit is 10.9km and is an easy walk. It took me about 4 hours and that was with stopping for lots of photo's, many oohh's and aahh's and lunch at Picnic Rock.
Walk this circuit in a clockwise direction and exit via Elabana Falls and Picnic Rock. The track is easy to follow for the whole circuit and is well signed.

The waterfalls that you encounter on this hike are glorious shows of stunning, shimmering, breathtaking beauty that are deep in a majestic forest. The sound of the rainforest bird's and the thundering of the falls, the crisp, clean smell of overnight rain, the sight of moss covered boulders and the sheer beauty of the rays of sunlight as they break through the canopy hitting the ancient, old giant trees that whisper to your soul as you touch them....
This is definitely one of Mother Nature's finest that you must come and experience for yourself 💕🙏

Absolutely incredible. Have done this a couple of times and so rewarding every time. Packs snacks and spend time at every stunning fall.

Went on this hike in the middle of pouring down rain, not the best experience however the track was amazing, beautiful waterfalls and nice rest spots along the way.
However every few metres we were flicking leaches off of our boots and legs, they were everywhere and some were big and painful.
Even with long thick pants they will climb all over you trying to get some blood however they cannot penetrate through the pants so be prepared.

Multiple falls and creek crossings, wet/muddy/slippery in places.

An awesome walk one of my favourites so far, stunning waterfalls and nice walking track, a little muddy in places but it has rained last few weeks, few water crossings but on rocks and stuff so only mud on the shoes. Thought we had lost the track a few times but stay true it just gets a little over grown and small.. ❤️ Loved it

Beautiful walk. We walk with 3 children (including a 5 year old) and had a fantastic day. The track is in great shape with only two fallen trees partially blocking the track - both are high enough to climb under. There's plenty of water in the creek to get some lovely waterfall photos, but not enough to cause any issues with the two creek crossings. We stopped for lunch at Picnic Rock. All up it took us 4 hours to complete the walk. Definitely a walk we will be doing again :)

Beautiful walk, wonderful scenery. They are preparing for track maintenance so there are bags of gravel/rocks and equipment placed along the track by helicopter in a few sections. Took 3 hours walking, and an hour and a half stopped for lunch, photos etc. Lovely day out.

Beautiful track, just very very cold in the morning. The creek that the track follows is just stunning, and the falls are beautiful.

Great walk. Nothing more to be said. Elabana falls is the big drawcard.

Started from O'Reilly's Retreat on Main Border Track. Beautiful waterfalls and streams. Went on Friday morning and saw almost no one else. Trail is well signed, and was damp and a little chilly.

Very good circuit walk with beautiful waterfalls. Not too long and easy track to walk.

Great walk, it was quite wet under foot in some sections and a few trees over the track. Took about 4 hours. Don't miss the waterfalls.

Beautiful walk with incredible rainforests, waterfalls, and wildlife. Elabana falls is a beautiful spot but there are also lots of other different falls along the track that are great to see. Some of the big old growth trees are amazing.

Apparently plenty of snakes but I only saw Land Mullet and water dragons plus a lot of birds. And if you keep your eyes out you will see some lamington crayfish.

Would recommend doing this walk early or during the week as it can get quite busy. It is great to families and kids out walking but if I am being selfish it can disturb the ambience.

Great mid-range walk, some awesome waterfalls and plenty of wildlife! Take a picnic and take your time as there are a lot of nice spots to sit and appreciate the solitude as you follow the creek through this circuit.

Lovely day for a walk. Plenty of people on the tracks. Waterfalls are well worth the walk :)

Love this walk. Waterfalls and cascades running nicely despite lack of rain. Saw at least 5 Lamington Blue Crays.

Fantastic walk, and saw not one but FIVE rare Albert's Lyrebirds! :)
