Ferny Grove Rail Trail

Brisbane's Ferny Grove Rail Trail, a 1.8km bush track which connects the Samford Valley foothills to Ferny Grove, may be short and lack romantic trimmings such as old stations and railway bridges, but of all the country's rail trails, it distinguishes itself with an infamous and tragic history.

Comments

A pleasant and popular sealed walk through the bush.

Nice flat short walk that you can take your dogs on.

Lots of birdlife including quails on the day. As others have mentioned, watch out for bikes.

We found this rail trail more enjoyable than the Caboolture Rail Trail. The track is now fully sealed. It is a bike track so you need to watch out for that.

A basic walk, however the McLean Rd end was swarming with so many different types of birds.

Not much to recommend it but worth doing once
