Mt Allan Fire Tower - Booloumba Creek trail

Conondale National Park

There`s 2 ways to do the Mt Allan Fire Tower. 1 from the Charlie Moreland camp area and this one from the Booloumba Creek side. It an 11km return hike, and the going is basically up hill all the way to the tower, however its a zig-zag trail so it doesn't go straight up. Once at the top, you can climb the tower for some spectacular views of the region.

Getting there

Head toward Conondale from Kenilworth and take the Booloumba Creek Rd turn off. You have to cross 2 small creeks so a 4WD or SUV will be needed. The creeks are not deep, but a sedan may bottom out. the turn right at the Booloumba Day use are and the walk starts at the car park.

Great walk! Very pretty. Be sure to start at day area 2 otherwise you can expect an additional 700m uphill.
Was tough in some spots but worth it when you finally reach the top. We did it in 31/2 hours which includes a 30 break at the top.

Easy footing, but a bit long and monotonous. One of those walks where you keep asking are we there yet.
