Getting there

How do you get to the start of the walk?

JR Nakatsugawa station or JR Nagiso station.

From either station, there are infrequent buses to the villages of Magome or Tsumago.

The walk can be done in either direction.

In my opinion, Magome is very commercial, whereas Tsumago is very natural. Both villages are beautifully preserved.
