Getting there

Start this hike at the Bakuroza car park. It is easiest to drive here but there are public transport options from Yonago. The carpark is massive so don't worry about missing out on a park.

Route/Trail notes

Start this hike by walking up the main street. It is impossible to miss the stone walkway that goes past lots of shops. This will take you up to the path of an ancient shrine (Daisen shrine), which is pretty cool in itself, see moss covered torii gates and weathered wood.

Once you reach the main temple building, you will see a toilet off to the side. This is the last toilet of the hike. Trail continues out back of toilet through the forest where you will get your first open view of Daisen (note: it looks awesome).

Here the hike follows an obvious path with a wooden staircase pretty much all the way to the top. Views really start picking up once you are beyond the tree line and the path turns into a boardwalk to keep you off the fragile vegetation.

Top of the mountain has a mountain hut and a very large place to have lunch. Enjoys the views and take the same way down to end up back up at the carpark.

did this during golden week and it was packed. So many people, the hike to the top was a big queue.
