Route/Trail notes

Follow the well sign-posted track from Garrawarra Farm cark park down the Burgh Ridge towards the coast. Once Burning Palm Beach is reached, walk south along the back to the end. Here a rough track leads to the rock platform at the base of the cliffs. Follow the coast until the Figure 8 Pool is reached.

NOTE: This walk MUST be done within an hour of low tide and in good conditions. Figure 8 Pool is underwater at high tide, and dangerous if there is a large swell. There have been injuries and deaths caused by people being swept off the rocks.

Permits/Costs

National Park entry fee / annual pass.

Comments

Not too hard. An enjoyable hike with good views. Be careful at the rock pools though. Even at low tide, unexpected waves would come up, and knock people over, dragging them around and nearly over the rock edge.

Walked past here many times doing the Bundeena to Otford Coastal Walk... finally managed to make the trip to Figure 8 Pool. Smaller than I expected but beautiful. Avoid weekends and public holidays, as it can get VERY busy!
