| There's not much satisfaction to be gained here. We are experienced hikers and after completing mt Perry we rate this one at the absolute bottom of the list. The best bit is the 1st km slog uphill with beautiful views. Once you hit the forest, it's a 2hour uninspiring annoying, dark bushbashing through unmaintained trees, spiderwebs, prickly vines, path-covering ferns and anything in between. The views promised here for the top are no longer there. Its overgrown which means there's no payoff in the end. Only relentlessness all the way up and then again back down. For a trail that cost over $1mln in tax money, to then not maintain the trail and view at the top is shameful. Recommendation: avoid at all cost. Or, as my teen son said at the top: "it wasn't worth it, was it?". |
