Lovely scramble near the end, though some venomous snakes in the rocks meant we had to turn back.

Tried to hike this back in 2019 but it was closed due to fires. Finally able to go today and what a beautiful day out. Wouldn't classify this as hard as you can avoid the rock face part of the track by returning down the East track of you desire. That said, the rock face isn't that steep and with good shoes and reasonable fitness it's no trouble.

This has been the big ticket item on the hiking bucket list for a long time. The Southeast ridge can be quite intimidating towards the top, and it started drizzling while we were up there but luckily not too badly. I can see how people could get lost in places but if you have a map downloaded you should be fine. Favourite part would have to be scrambling down the saddle side of the east peak. Doable in a day but would also be nice to stay up in the Rum Jungle campsite.

What a way to kick-start hiking again after a long hiatus! This one is a big day out if you're not staying the night. We camped near the entrance by the base of the prow. GPS said that's where the site was but there wasn't much so signify a campsite. Much better if you can make it to the top of the Stern and camp there. Headed up to the Funnel and followed the ridgeline past the Mast towards the Stern. Keep left and follow the path to double back to the lookout. Be warned there is some rock climbing and not for the faint hearted if heights aren't your thing.
