The hike from Narcissus Hut to Cynthia Bay along Lake St Clair (also referred to the Lakeside Walk) is the last – or first! – section of the Overland Track, and also makes a pleasant day walk. It's not the most interesting walk you can do, but does traverse long sections of temperate rainforest.
Starts/finishes at Lake St Clair Lodge (Cynthia Bay) and Narcissus HUt. A ferry service operates from Lake St Clair Lodge - at least three times a day in peak periods and less often in winter. Bookings essential.

From Narcissus Jetty, the trail goes past Narcissus Hut (5min away) and then crosses an open plan for about 2km, before entering the rainforest. The track generally follows the edge of Lake St Clair, although you rarely see the lake due to the forest cover. About 7km from the start, the track passes Echo Point Hut and jetty (the ferry makes a stop hers, and you can also start the walk here).
National Park Entry Fee is payable.
There is a cost for the ferry - $42 to Echo Point and $50 to Narcissus Hut (one-way, adult fare in 2018/19)
