Robe Coastal Trail

Route/Trail notes:

From the car park, take the track to the right that leads up to the Lighthouse, along Factory Bay past Doorway Rock, Blow Hole and up to The Obelisk. Carry on around Cape Dombey and down to the Jetty, Karatta House and the Marina to pick up the Arthur Fennell Way Boardwalk. Walk to the Chinese Monument and along the footpath, past the Flagstaff on your right till you get to Town Beach and the Information Centre to your right.

Return by the same route, or cut back down Backler Street at the bottom of the Marina.

The map indicates that the trail continues all the way to Fox's Beach, but I found it difficult to follow, with the pathway eroded in places beyond the Information Centre and maybe still under construction, including a loop trail back to the start via Beacon Hill Lookout.

Permits/Costs:

None.

Other References/Comments:

A detour to your right coming down from the Cape will take you to the Old Goal Ruins.

Comments

Get the cobwebs out of your hair with a breezy morning walk along the coastline and around the harbour after a whole lot of lobster and fine wine last night. Was here in 2009, booked in for one night and stayed three. Love this place.
