Route/Trail notes:

The trailhead is well signed, starting behind the picnic table at the car park. Follow the staircase as it winds up the side of the mountain. There are many stairs, but they are a good depth/distance apart and not too stressful on the knees . There are chairs part-way up/at the top if you need to catch your breath.

Return via the same route or continue on to Silburns Vine Scrub Walk and Daniel's Lookout.

Permits/Costs:

None.

In reality, this is one walk to Daniels Lookout broken into three sections. If you take the strenuous climb to Braithwaites then the walk around Silburns Vine Scrub Walk and up to Daniels Lookout is easy.
We were there the week after the 2025 earthquake at Murgon, which you could see from Braithwaites Lookout less than 10km away. Luckily no aftershocks.

Lots of stairs, then a peaceful lookout. Nice and shady most of the way. Heaps of interesting native plants.

Very short climb up some stairs for this lookout. Clean track with a view through the trees to areas around Murgon.

Great walk. 190 steps up the mountain, and then a lovely 2km return walk along the top of the flat mountain. Two different tracks, both well worth the walk. Views from Daniel's lookout were magnificent. Would definitely recommend this walk - we headed to Bjelke-Petersen dam for lunch after our walk which made for a wonderful day out in the Burnett.
